Quite an interesting move. Has Spangenberg played any shortstop in the minors this season? Looks like he played a couple innings there last season, but that’s it for his entire career at the MLB level. I don’t see him taking any at bats away from Hiura or Moose.

I agree. Is there a difference between Spangenberg and HP at this point? How many guys that are versatile defensively but can’t hit does the team need.

I guess they want a lefty option for SS and 2b? I can see optioning Gamel if they are going to have Grisham up, I don't see how a left handed Hernan Perez is going to help much though.
