I don’t think so, as mentioned before the Rose Bowl can pick whoever they want at this point if we lose. The rankings won’t matter a lick as we will be so closely ranked with Penn State.

 

A win clinches it, a lose is a total crapshoot whether we lose by 1 point or 21. That makes it a total judgement call for the Rose Bowl talking heads.

I think a steamroll coupled with Fields not finishing the game due to injury. Otherwise the committee can't look past that illini loss even if they beat OSU. My thought for the badgers to have the best chance to win was to shut down the run game as much as possible and hope fields' knee led to him playing poorly. That has happened so far - but still a looong way to go and a thinned LB core is going to lead to big play opportunities for the Buckeyes if they can make them.

I look at it as the commitee not wanting to put a team in the playoff without a qb if the alternative is the team that beat them for a conference title...in this case it would be Fields out with something that would obviously cost him playoff games - not just a balky knee that led to a badger win.
