Wild card weekend game discussion

Anyone think Minnesota can give the Saints a game?

If not, I'll be rooting for Seattle to get by Philly. I think Seattle has a better chance than anyone of going into San Francisco and winning. They know them better than anyone, and the first two games have been down to the last play.

If Cook plays, the Vikings have a chance. Their defense is pretty solid and should keep the game relatively close. You would think one of these games Cousins is going to step up and play well in a big moment, even if it’s just for one game and he reverts back to his normal self. Maybe this game is the one where he plays extremely well and gets a big win.

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans - I have liked Buffalo all year. I want Buffalo to win, but I think Houston has more weapons on offense, but their D seems prone to giving up tons of yards and points. This might be the hardest call of the weekend. Buffalo 27 Houston 25

Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots - I haven't felt great about New England all season, as my wife is a Pats fan so we watch just about every 60 minutes every week. They have no TE to speak of, average possession WR's and I think their best asset is James White. Tennessee 20 New England 17

Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints - Carolina is terrible, but the Saints showed they can beat you fifteen different ways and one of them wasn't even Michael Thomas. Minnesota always seems worse than the sum of their parts. Dalvin Cook will make it closer than it probably is. New Orleans 33 Minnesota 17

Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles - Russell Wilson feels like Aaron Rodgers from 5 years ago; just always in it during the final drive no matter what. The Seahawks OL and RB injuries are killing them. Luckily for them, I don't think they need a running game to beat Philly on the road. Seattle 27 Philadelphia 13

I like the Bills today. Josh Allen has been underrated this year and I don't trust a Bill O Brien coached team in January. (And just like that Allen looks like Jim Thorpe on the opening drive.) 7-0 Bills.

There is zero chance that gets overturned. Once again Bill O Brien goes brain fart in January. That's one of the most irreversible non PI calls there's been this year. They don't even overturn obvious ones.

Bill OBrien is just a bad football coach

O Brien may have wanted to challenge that spot of ball foul but was forced not to use his final challenge in the first quarter because of a poor decision to challenge PI.

That touchback/touchdown for the Bills call out of the half was blatantly wrong. I’m honestly surprised they ruled it a touchback for the Texans. The ball either needs to bounce in the end zone, go out of bounds through the end zone, or the player needs to take a knee. You can’t just put your arms out to the side and call it good. That’s only a signal to your blockers that it’s not being returned.

By the letter of the law, that’s a fumble and should be a touchdown for the Bills. I know he clearly wasn’t returning it, but that’s not the point. There was no actual result in the play that would make a ruling of a touchback the correct call.

If a player catches the ball on a pass, but doesn’t get two feet down in the end zone to score, why can’t we give him the touchdown anyway? I mean, we know his intentions were to get two feet in for a touchdown. So just give it to him.

Just a weird, weird call. I understand the point I guess, but rules are rules. Make the correct ruling of touchdown for the Bills and make some change in the offseason I guess. But I don’t really know why the rule would need to change because it’s pretty easy to figure it out to knee it or let it bounce.

I concur. He's terrible.

Almost as bad as the announcers.

Probably could have found a couple of high school guys in Texas that are better

I like JJ Watt as much as the next guy, but why do they have to show him so much?

Josh Allen has a fumbling issue

Josh Allen really sucked those last two plays. You cannot take that sack

Wow. How do you opt for 4th and 27 over a 59 yard FG try?

What an idiotic decision....and to make matters worse they get sacked so the Texans are instantly in field goal range.

You still have to try the fg don't you?

I was a shocked they didn’t. You go for it on 4th and 27 instead of trying something like a 59 yard field goal. Even if the probably of making the field goal is 25% or something, what’s your chances of converting a 4th and 30?? I would bet way less than that.
