That had to feel great for Keston!

J.A. Happ is probably the Cardinals' #2 or #3 starter, depending on how you feel about the corpse of Jon Lester. Streak or not, they are not built for postseason success. Of course ... Devil Magic and such.

If Stearns is as great as most think, he will find a way to move JBJ this offseason...

For some other team's garbage. With that return, they should just keep him start fresh in 2022.

Sometimes these are a one off and they come back the next year and are useful. (Let’s hope Yelich bounces back too)

And sometimes they are Chris Davis

Yeah, I'll take my chances with the rebound season of JBJ. I think Stearns will too.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Urias with a 23 dinger 70 some rbi season is about the most pleasant development I could ask for this season. If I pair that to the acquisition and performance of Adames and the developments of Lauer and Houser this season was a MAJOR major success. I'll take that to the bank. Anything else I get after the regular season is over is just Gravy for me.

The issue with that is that he is taking up a roster spot from someone who could improve us.

If JBJ is 2021 JBJ next season, he just clogs up the roster.

If I could move him, even for next to nothing in a trade, I'd do it yesterday.

His salary is just such a waste if it prohibits us from signing someone useful.

How can this even be an argument?

Kinda surprised they aren't riding Anderson a little deeper here. He's only at 61 pitches, and I'd be surprised if he makes the postseason roster.

Me as well. Tho, maybe what they are hinting at here is all Starters will make the Bullpen? Interesting development for sure. Maybe they are going to go entirely match-up and short-leash based in Game 3?
