Let's get that party started right:

Both players were discussed briefly (and glowingly) in my Tuesday evening report. Both players given notice by 'Brewers Player Development' twitter. Woot woot. Love it.

Seven credited errors for the DSL Brewers 1 led to 4 unearned runs. Wooof. 5-3 they lose. Two apiece for INF's Jose Pena and Luis Watter and throw in the 16th error (throwing) of Jhonny Severino.

It sure would appear 18-year-old righty Leonardo Rivera deserved better - he takes the 'L' after his 2 2/3 IP (2 unearned runs).

20-year-old RHP Stanley Encarnacion's solid 3 IP (0 H, 0BB, 4K) goes for naught as RHP Waldin Rodriguez follows up a rough 1 IP, 5H, 1BB, 4ER, 1WP 8th inning. Starter, 18-year-old RHP Darling Solano takes the loss after his 4 IP, 1H, 3ER, 4K innings. The DSL Brewers 2 lose 7-2 to the DSL Phillies Red.

The Brewers 2 had managed to pull within 3-2 in the top of the 7th after they had loaded the bases with one out. After a Demetrio Nadal ground out and force out to second base plated that second Brewers 2 run, Nadal then managed to steal second (his 14th steal of the season). With men on 2nd and 3rd and two down, OF Reminton Batista popped out in the foul territory beyond 3rd base. That was the young Brewers' last chance as the Phillies plated four runs off Rodriguez the following inning.

Nashville is retiring Brewers legend Tim Dillards' jersey tonight. Awesome stuff:

And, lemme tell ya, this bobblehead is sweet. It's truly awesome to see the Sounds invest so meaningfully in a player who gave them years of service. Congrats to Tim are most definitely in order:

Here's our T-Rats lineup as our beloved High-A squad looks to end a frustrating 10-game skid. Let's root them on as they look to turn things around and get back to winning ways:

OF Terence Doston will get the nod in left field as OF Tristan Peters takes his hot bat to the DH slot (still batting lead-off, we see). Utility man extraordinaire, Wes Clarke, will look to build off his three-hit night yesterday as he mans 1B. Acosta, Piñero, and Murray once again round out the infield positions. Alex Hall is back behind home plate and the Rattlers will look to heavily lean on RHP Justin Jarvis hoping he'll bring his Ace stuff tonight. Best of luck, men. We're rooting for you to turn this ship back into smoother winning waters!

He may have been a late-game defensive substitution, but I certainly notice OF Joey Wiemer is still on the shelf after an awkward reaction to an awkward swing late two games ago. How problematic is this ongoing hand issue? Are we dealing with a nagging minor injury or are we seeing something chronic and inflamed? Tough sledding for the young man after such a torrid start to his 2022 season.

This being said, Tristen Lutz is back in the line-up but as a DH as Noah Campbell is back manning the left field grass. INF Yeison Coca will be protecting the 'hot corner', Andruw Monasterio keeps his hot bat and glove at shortstop. Cam Devanney will get a much needed rest. Brandon Knarr will take to the Hill hoping to give the Shuckers a 3-1 series lead.

Back in Nashville, the Sounds look to widen their series lead on the Charlotte Knights as Brewers Ace Freddy Peralta looks to build off his recent rehab Start. INF Brice Turang is again in lead-off but he'll be in center field once again. Garrett Whitley and Keston Hiura will round out the corner outfield spots. 1B Jon Singleton will look to continue his fantastic July batting clean-up. INF Patrick Dorrian is again at third base prompting me to ask: Is everything ok with Mark Mathias? We'll see in the week ahead. Jakson Reetz gets his second game in three days behind home plate as he looks to synch with Freddy. Go Sounds!

RHP Miguel Segura will get the nod for the Carolina Mudcats as they look to avenge last night's loss to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers. Moving up to the second spot in the batting order will be DH Hedbert Perez as CF Edquarqui Fernandez will move down to the fifth spot protecting C Jose Sibrian batting clean-up. Leading the way, as has been the case for some time, will be RF Hendry Mendez. Let's hope the young men can cut down their strikeout totals and pull out a victory.

Biloxi scored 4 runs on 1 hit (a single) in the 1st inning and has now raced out to a 7-0 lead in the 4th inning. Brandon Knarr is rolling. Thomas Dillard and Noah Campbell are a combined 3-for-4 (all singles) with 5 RBIs.

Wisconsin is enjoying a rare lead (during recent stretch), up 2-0 in the 4th inning at home against Cedar Rapids. The runs scored on a balk and a Chourio sac fly. Justin Jarvis is keeping the Kernals off the board.

Freddy Peralta is into his 3rd inning in Nashville, working around two singles in the 1st inning. Hiura has our only hit thus far. 0-0.

Carolina and Fayetteville each have just one hit (Luis Silva for the good guys) through 3 innings. Miguel Segura’s throwing well. 0-0.

Peralta exited after 52 pitches (3 1/3 IP, 5 Ks). The leadoff batter had singled in the 4th inning and made it to 3rd base on a stolen base and error, then scored on Lucas Erceg’s first pitch in relief. Sounds down 1-0.

Justin Jarvis is through 6 scoreless innings of 1-hit ball against a tough Cedar Rapids lineup. Is he done after 90 pitches (60 strikes)? 2-0 Timber Rattlers.

Sal Frelick has reached in 3 of 4 plate appearances (2 singles, walk), the last an RBI single to extend Biloxi’s lead to 8-0 in the 5th inning. Knarr’s throwing 2-hit, shutout ball through 5 1/3 innings.

Jackson Chourio leads off the bottom of the 6th inning with a single and Joe Gray Jr. triples him home. 3-0 Timber Rattlers.

Jon Singleton just homered again, his 9th of the month and 19th of the year. 1-1 Nashville and Charlotte through 4 innings.

Jeez. Biloxi gave up 7 unanswered runs: 3 off Knarr in the 6th inning and 4 off Arnaldo Hernandez in the 7th inning. 8-7 Shuckers

Rehabbing Jake Cousins pitched the 5th inning in Nashville, giving up a run on two singles and a walk, before striking out the final two batters.

Nashville then loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom half of the inning, but failed to score. It’s 2-1 Charlotte in the 7th inning.

Fayetteville took a 1-0 lead over Carolina on a 5th inning homer off starter Segura. Zack Raabe doubled and scored in the 7th inning to tie it up. 1-1 Carolina vs. Fayetteville.

Looking like a classic 2022 Shuckers’ collapse, as the bases are loaded against Harold Chirino with nobody out in the 8th inning.

Carolina’s also fallen behind 2-1 on a throwing error in the 7th inning. Jheremy Vargas has also exited after being hit by a pitch.

But hey, it’s a good night. Wisconsin has ended its 10-game losing streak, shutting out Cedar Rapids 4-0. 15 strikeouts for Justin Jarvis, Taylor Floyd(!!) and Robbie Baker.

Tristan Peters reached base 3 times (2 doubles, walk) and scored 2 runs in the win, while Wes Clarke reached base 3 times (double, walk, hit-by-pitch).

Well, two of those Montgomery runners scored in the top of the 8th inning, as Biloxi now trails 9-8 after leading 8-0 once upon a time. Let’s turn it back around, young men.

Meanwhile, Nashville has two aboard (Turang single, Whitley walk) with nobody out in the bottom of the 8th inning, down 2-1.

Sal Frelick walks and moves to 3rd base with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th inning. He represents the tying run, down 9-8.
