Good for them I guess. I like signing guys to early extensions, but only when the team gets a significant discount. These are the type deals the Brewers can't do.

I think Brewers need to be done with any deal longer than 4 or 5 years, unless it’s a Peralta/Ashby type. Yelich’s deal, which was so celebrated, would be given back immediately, just two years after it happened. And he really isn’t hurt, which is also a future concern.

I know he's having a great season, but I was still surprised to see him get that contract.

I wouldn't have associated Riley making superstar money.
