We are not a good team

Hope we scratch our way to the playoffs

Not sure this roster gets us that far

Pathetic

I almost hope we miss the playoffs.  Even if we do we aren't gonna do much.

Nope

Williams was due to be scored upon

Shouldn’t have come down to the bottom of the 9th

McGee and suter blew it

I saw they called in suter to face cruz and I just knew he was going to Riverblast him.  Cruz is going to be a thorn, isn't he

No more so than Suter

I guess with the organizational chaos the last 48 hours, this whole ending seems about right.

I'll say this though, Williams reaction to the Hader trade, breaking his hand, probably been some other instances, I'm starting to think he's pretty mentally weak. 8th inning guy and 9th inning closer require very different mindsets. I know he was due to be scored on, but talk about bad timing for it to happen.

Was anyone actually surprised at that?

Schroeder made a comment during the game about how it might take Counsell some time to establish roles for the revamped bullpen.

He didn’t mention that it might take time for some pitchers to adjust to new roles too. Maybe trading an All Star closer at the deadline isn’t a good move unless you plan to just plug someone else into that role.

Williams reaction to the Hader trade was that it didn’t make sense to him, not “Oh good I get to be the closer now.” Maybe it will take some time for him to adjust.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I didn’t care if thE team won or lost tonight.    The writing is on the wall.    This team sucks and they have been sucking for awhile now.   I have a feeling that they will be too far back after they are done with the cardinals and dodgers series

I get that there are new guys in the pen, but as I told my buddy during the 6th, I thought Suter should have been in the 6th, followed by Bush, Rogers, Williams. I guess CC needs to figure out guys rolls again-ya know, something that's usually done in March-April.

I mean, PNC or whatever it's called now was bound to deliver it's annual dose of horror at some point (especially since we haven't encountered a rain delay there yet, have we?). So, check that off the list.

I'm not that worried about these last two terrible games, but then again I'm not really a believer in this group either. I think they'll get it together enough to get to the playoffs, and that will be a success.

Woody rights the ship tomorrow, and we remind ourselves there's 58 games left.

I thought the same on the timing. I mean, that's just terrible luck. There wasn't room for Severino on the roster, but man. Couldn't get any worse.

Very possible one catcher is on IL tomorrow.

Even a slight one there are two on IL tomorrow.

Someone call Jacob Nottingham!

Well, they were 7-1 out of the all-star break, which was easily the best record in MLBs, so this is kind of a silly post even after an admittedly weird 48 hours and 2 losses...

Yeah, I’m ready for Stearns’ tenure to be over. This season is a waste and I’d be very surprised if they actually supplemented the offense this off-season. The window is closing fast.

Rogers should be the closer in my opinion

After tonight, I bet we see him in the 9th next time. Seems just like the move that'll happen. The whole bullpen in chaos so start moving everyone to all sorts of different innings.

I hope come Spring Training, Suter is no longer an option for the bullpen

Maybe he can replace Dillard on the Bally Sports broadcast

I believe that the front office has obligation to make it's team better at the deadline if it's a contender. You rarely see a contender made worse. If anything they stand pat. This is something that has to be playing out in the clubhouse.

Blow it up, get them Top 100 prospects for Burnes, Woodruff and Adames. Plug Keston into the clean up spot everyday!!
