And poof goes that rally.

Man this team needs a consistent run producer in the middle of the lineup.

That ain't gonna happen this year.

It’s too bad Stearns didn’t get like at least five or six relievers at the deadline.     That 5th or 6th guy might have been able to hold a lead against the pirates.

Four runs in the first 1 1/3 innings, then nothing through the 7th. No tack on runs. Couldn’t convert the few scoring chances in the middle of the game. Leaves the outcome too much to chance, which is the way to lose to “lesser teams.”

Supposedly, we are built for run prevention & defense

While the Brewers recent pickups cough up another game to the Pirates, here is the Padres first inning against the Rockies:

With one out:

Soto walks

Machado doubles

Bell walks

Croenenworth HBP

Drury Grand Slam HR

On the heels of Hader pitching a 1-2-3 ninth last night and picking up a win, the Padres seem to be inspired by their deadline moves.

The Brewers seem to be demoralized by theirs.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Unless they were DFA’d the next day

Losing this one would really really really suck.

The Pirates just hit a big HR.  We are toast.

This team is pathetic,

There are three things America will be known for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: the Constitution, jazz music and baseball. They're the three most beautifully designed things this culture has ever produced. Gerald Early

I can’t believe Stearns couldn’t at least trade for Drury

He would have been an excellent addition to out team - both his bat & defensive versatility
