Welp, the DSL Brewers Uno are on a bit of a losing skid. Thankfully, the Brewers Dos managed a victory - elusive of late in the Brewers DSL.

Classic DSL win: DSL-2 scored 6 runs despite going 0-for-13 with RISP and hitting no homers.

1B Ernesto Martinez (last played April 23 for Wisconsin) and LF Arbert Cipion (last played August 10th) return to the lineup for the Timber Rattlers as they face Twins' High-A affiliate Cedar Rapids on the road this week. 22-year old RHP Justin Jarvis (3.74 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 10.0 K/9 in 110 2/3 innings) gets today's start:

2021 draftee (4th round) RHP Logan Henderson makes his Low-A Carolina debut in what I assume will be a short start as he builds up strength after recently rehabbing in Arizona. The Mudcats host Astros' affiliate Fayetteville this week. RF Hedbert Perez has reached safely in 9 of his last 10 games:

Darrien Miller certainly seems to have carved out a new role as Wisconsin's lead-off man. This is a fun and, frankly, much-needed development for the squad. He's shown a fantastic ability to take the free pass.

It appears Brewers PD agrees:

@CheeseheadInQC:

You'll see what I've seen for awhile: he has more velocity than most of the young arms. His lower-body clearly has explosiveness. What's he's really been fine-tuning is his Mix as he's really starting to locate those breaking and off-speed pitches. Check out the nasty back door slider on the lefty at the 0:20 mark of the highlights. Juicy stuff.

After two close losses, Nashville hits the road to face Marlins' AAA affiliate Jacksonville this week, with rehabbing MLBers RHP Adrian Houser and DH/C Omar Narvaez starting today. 3B Weston Wilson has a 10-game on-base streak:

Well on an inside high heater, on the second pitch, a check swing foul deflects straight into the home plate umpire's knee cap. He is now writhing on the ground in pain. Man, ouch! Both trainers are working with him and he is now getting to his feet and looks like he'll stay in. Whewww.

2 K, 1 H ( an oppo rope to the right field wall - remember, Five County is 309 to the wall in RF) for Henderson in his first Low-A inning. Toss in a wild pitch. His off-speed stuff is 'off' - ie he isn't finding the plate. But, man, he can locate that heater with ease. At any location on the plate.

Boy, between Esteury Ruiz and Robert Moore we need a bunt off. Those two men can lay it down. So choice. I love skilled baseball players.

The Mudcats waste Robert Moore's zesty bunt single down the third base line and Jace Avina's double down the left field line - a better bounce scores Moore. Chirinos strikes out swinging and Luis Castillo pops up to second base. On to the second frame. It should be noted: Castillo is officially 'finding his way' at Low-A with a mere 0.315 SLG %. AND, Logan Henderson will come out for the second frame - he had only played 2 one inning outings in the ACL.

Biloxi welcomes newly-promoted 1B/3B Zavier Warren (.679 OPS in High-A, but 1.049 OPS over his last 14 games) to the starting lineup as they are in Montgomery this week to take on the Rays' AA affiliate. RHP Carlos Luna (4.72 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 9.1 K/9 in 82 innings) starts the opener and SS Andruw Monasterio has a 17-game on-base streak:

Hedbert Perez continues a fine evening in right field by helping Henderson with a nice diving stop to end the second frame. Through 2 IP, Henderson has given up 2 H, 0 BB, 1 WP, and 3 K. He's struggling to locate his breaking ball with any accuracy so is relying on strict heater and a sprinkled in change-up (which he used to grab his 3rd K on a full count to a lefty).

AND, he's back at 1B. Well, how about that. He's expanding that organizational tool kit. You love to see it. He's such a savvy player.

Oh dear Hedbert Perez you are having a night. He just crushed a 108 mph bomb over the wall in right field. 370 feet in total distance. That's his 14th of the year. He has a diving catch to end the 2nd frame, a one-handed take on a ball to the wall with a perfect throw to 2nd base to hold a runner at 1B in the first, and now a solo jack. You just love to see this!

RHP Adrian Houser gives up a 2-run jack and another run in a 3-run first. Ummmm, let's hope for a better showing in the innings ahead! Then he leads the 2nd frame with a single and a walk. That's 4 H, 2 BB, in 1 IP. Not the rehab start the Brewers brass were looking for.

Man, is Jose Sibrian on a tear. He just hit a 103 mph line drive off the wall in deep left center and scores the Mudcats second run. Sibrian is the hottest Mudcat of late with a near 1.000 OPS over his last 7 contests. Let's keep this young man in the system!

Oh Dear Jace Avina GRAND SALAMI. This young man loves to hit at Five County Stadium. He utterly crushed that ball over the high wall in right center. MY GOODNESS. All his ding dongs are at Five County. He came in hitting 0.444 in the stadium and he's now 2-2 with a rope double down the left field line to boot. SHEEEEEEEEEESH.

Jackson Chourio does not have an arm. I don't know how this young stud sticks in CF. Like it's an infield arm kind of arm by my view since I've watched him in High-A.

I thought Jarvis had settled down but  he gave up two base-runners and then a three-run bomb over the wall in left field. The T-Rats had tied it the previous inning. They now trail 5-2.

So where do you think he goes? LF? 1b?

My friend, I have no idea but I find myself preemptively asking about it and considering it now. He's 18 years old. We need to keep this in mind. BUT, that arm...that arm doesn't merit staying there in the end. His hit tool is what matters most. It's electric.
