Hey, we love every prospect, but yay for rookie league final day!

From a Link Report perspective, along with @damuelle and @Joseph Zarr, we enjoy unearthing future gems in Maryvale and the Dominican Republic. That being said, it's a heavy load in compiling the final report when the rookie kids are added to the mix, so a big thank you to my co-workers (and myself ?) for shouldering that extra work.

We look forward to a few weeks where we get back to an April and May-like grind. Thanks for sticking with us all summer!

Seems like a good opportunity to thank everyone for their work on these daily threads. I really appreciate your dedication!

I've literally been reading these nearly every day since forever. It replaced my pouring over MLB box scores in the morning newspaper every morning over breakfast.

Thanks again!

Currently doing push-ups and running laps preparing for the healthy seven-game line-up tonight. It’s fitting the ACL squads end it with a head-to-head. After Jim helped me knock off that 11-game bonanza last week, four games is going to feel surreal.?

I can’t even imagine the work that goes into these link reports so a big thank you to everyone. The minor league season winding down is a huge bummer but what a great season it’s been so far.

I think there is some validity in questioning Lara's ascension into the BF Top 20 when you simply look to his outfield mate in one Duncan Garcia (2-for-2 today, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 HR) - most likely not on most peoples' radar. I would propose we may have gotten overzealous as a community given Lara's torrid start and signing hype. It's an interesting consideration, in the very least. Garcia closes with his 4th HR today (to Lara's 2). He finishes his summer with a 0.752 OPS (to Lara's 0.726). 19 SB (to Lara's 7 ). Where the rubber hits the road here, however, is when you consider Lara was leading-off and he managed a fairly impressive 28:21 K:BB ratio. That's quality stuff. Whereas, Garcia went the young hitter route of 60:23, respectively.

Annywho, what I really want to say: How great to have both these young men in the DSL OF stable!

Hey now! Lefty Clayton Andrews just pitched a clean 1 IP - 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K. This is awesome. That's only his second live inning of competitive action since May of 2021 - both scoreless.

The hits keep coming in the rehab department:

RHP Justin King pitches a clean 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K inning - his first since early July before the T-Rats sent him down to the ACL on a rehab assignment. Good news!

2022 11th rounder, Cameron Wagoner, has now pitched 7 IP in the ACL. 0 H, 0 BB, 7 K.

?

Naturally, I completely jinxed him. He's now given up 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 ER in his second inning of work today. I apologize in advance, Cameron.

INF Daniel Guillarte continues to shine in his ACL role. He's 2-for-3 today and is now hitting 0.309 with a 0.780 OPS. He has managed 7 doubles on the season but has a zero in the long ball department. If this 18-year-old young man can get some more meat on those bones (currently listed at 160 lbs), we might just really have something here. His 19:31 BB:K ratio is quite nice - there's obviously plate discipline going on here and an ability to put the bat to the ball. He's averaging an error per 27 2/3 innings played at SS - compare that to Severino's error per 16 2/3 innings played or Juan Baez's error per 21 2/3 innings played - and, perhaps we see we have a more advanced fielder as well. This will be a fun young man to track alongside the up and coming Jadher Areinamo - two lesser heralded but enticing prospects.

3B Luke Adams again strutting his stuff for the ACL Gold today. After the above-mentioned jinx-laden 3-run inning laid upon Wagoner, Adams ropes a double to right field knocking in two runners and tying the game at 4 apiece. Adams is now hitting a robust 0.357 with a 1.075 in 32 ACL AB's. Fantastic stuff from the 12th rounder straight out of high school! It should be noted, he stole 3 bases today as well - that's 9 SB for Adams in just 11 games! I sure hope we get to see him in Carolina!

Wisconsin is home this week, taking on Athletics' High-A affiliate Lansing, Chourio and Quero remain out of the lineup, but the team has stud RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (1.76 ERA in 3 High-A starts with 20 Ks in 15 1/3 innings) starting the opener. Leading off is none other than rehabbing major league 3B Jace Peterson, while SS Eduardo Garcia has hit safely in 8 of his last 9 games;

Jose Acosta in RF? That's a surprising sight - it will be just his third appearance in RF for the T-Rats. He has yet to field a ball there. Maybe tonight we get a web gem!

The MiLB transactions wire consistently has RHP Alexander Cornielle heading to the Orioles High-A club in Aberdeen. I had to double take. Calm myself. AND, go read the Carolina Mudcats press release. LOL. I was like: "Is this some twisted player to be named later delayed ugliness?!?" ?

Nashville remains on the road as two first place teams collide in Durham (Rays' AAA affiliate) this week. RHP Marcus Walden starts the opening game, aiming to continue a recent good run (1 run allowed in last 11 innings). Three hitting streaks are ongoing: DH/OF Esteury Ruiz 11 games, LF Sal Frelick 8 games, SS Brice Turang 7 games:

What's more? Brice Turang is now manning the hot corner. I'm telling you: he could probably play catcher in a pinch.

Nashville about to kick it off in Durham. Here's a wee lil' nugget: the last day Nashville wasn't atop their division in 2022? May 4th. Man, that's awesome. This could be a preview of late September's championship game in Las Vegas.

AND, what happens next? None other than a sublimely laid bunt single left of the mound (from the batters box - right of the mound for the infield) for Esteury Ruiz. Two men aboard for Brice Turang. Man, Ruiz can bunt better than any Brewer I've seen since....? It's unreal how soft that ball lands. That was off a 98mph heater. Laid down like a feather.

A wild pitch after a Fielder's Choice (Turang) scores Frelick and Big Jon Singleton rips a single to right center field knocking in Ruiz. It's quickly 2-0 Sounds. Mitchell is up, 0-2 count, 2 down and Singleton on 2nd base now. What a great start.

Mitchell proceeds to rip an oppo laser shot to left field. Singleton rounds third but is thrown out by a very nice throw from Bulls LF'er Luke Raley. 2-0 we go to the bottom half of the 1st. The Sounds pushed Bradley to a 29 pitch first inning. That's a major success.

The Carolina Mudcats have won 6 games in a row and will spend this week at the White Sox Low-A affiliate Kannapolis. RHP Fernando Olguin (4.94 ERA) is set to make his 10th start (17th appearance) of the year in Game One. RF Hendry Mendez has a 10-game on-base streak and C Jose Sibrian has a 7-game hitting streak:
