Just out of curiosity, where are the the AAA playoffs played?  Neutral site or home ballparks of teams with better records?

AAA championship weekend is in Vegas this year. Assuming Nashville wins the IL West they would play a 1 game playoff against the IL East winner (currently Durham) on Saturday, October 1st. If they win that game they would play a 1 game playoff against the winner of the PCL championship game for the AAA National Championship on Sunday, October 2nd.

AAA Nashville can clinch a series victory in Louisville and more importantly the International League West Division season title with a win tonight. RHP Caleb Boushley (12-2, 3.34 ERA in 121 1/3 IP) aims for his 13th win. RF Joey Wiemer (.904 OPS in 160 AAA plate appearances) returns from a recent absence:

Weird to see Esteury Ruiz in a mini-slump: O-for-his-last-13. He flies out to end the 3rd inning after Matt Lipka has tripled. Still 0-0.

I don't suppose Frelick is taking the short trip from Louisville to Cincinnati today?

Probably just his day to rest, though it would have been nice to have him in the majors the last 40 games or so.

I assume Dorrian is a free agent at the end of the year? Any chance they bring him back? He's been pretty good for us after being dreadful for much of the year.

We most likely retain control, as he came via trade (from Orioles) instead of signing-after-release like Dylan Moore or Mitch Longo. 22 homers in AA last year, solid adjustment in AAA in the latter half of this year. Good little find, I think.

ah, I had forgotten that he was acquired in a trade.

How good has Boushley been this year? My goodness. He’s making a run at Carlos F Rodriguez given what he has meant for a very close to being Playoff ball club.

We’re on to the top of the 8th and Sounds are clinging to a 3-1 lead.

Dorrian doubled and moved to 3rd on a balk with 1 out, but Severino and Navaretto couldn’t bring him home in the top of the 9th inning.

Now, Erceg has given up a first pitch single and Is lifted for Zack Brown. Gotta get out of this and get to extras.

And Brown does just that, on 5 pitches. Line drive third-to-first double play by Dorrian, then a Singleton-to-Brown groundout.

It’s time for Manfred’s Man to make some appearances.
