Uribe rips an absolute laser at the knees. Catches the inside of the plate. Ump calls a ball. I mean come on. 101 mph. Gorgeous. When do those Auto-Zones appear?

Yeah that was a perfect pitch right on the corner. AA ump clearly had issues tracking 101 mph

He took about a 100 step roundabout to walk that call off. LOL. Unbelievable no call there. Gorgeous pitch.

Uribe is going to be so good. He has nasty stuff. If he can get that slider locating at will and that tailing heat that can touch 102? Pair that with his clear confidence and moxy that's elite closer stuff.

After a rain delay, they're under way in Nashville, with Pedro Fernandez walking the leadoff batter on 8 pitches, then is done in by a double throwing error (one on Hiura, one on Monasterio) on the next play. Thankfully, the next batter flew into a double play (LF Skye Bolt to Jackson at the plate) and Fernandez ultimately escaped with a pop up. 0-0 after a half inning. Let's get weird, but win!

Luke Adams just hit a towering bomb to LF. 402ft over the scoreboard.

Was a crush of mine during the ACL - 12 steals (?) in like 35 AB. I've watched every AB since joining active duty with Carolina. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite prospects in the entire system. Such an athletic everything. Tools for days.

Jeison Pena is having another difficult appearance for Carolina, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits (the last a homer) in the 7th inning today. Mudcats trail 5-2.

He has now mad way for RHP Tanner Shears.

I have seen ample evidence tonight that demonstrates Minor League umps struggle with the concept of a strike at the knees. Literally have seen at least 3-4 blatant third strike calls pass with silence. Very strange.

Parra just ripped a deep gapper to center right driving in Avina and Low. Really well hit ball. It's now 5-4 and Parra is on 2nd with nobody down. Quinton was huffing his big frame around those bases and just beat that throw.

Having won the opening game of today's doubleheader, the Shuckers are now 4-1 on the season and we finally get to see 24-year old LHP Adam Seminaris (3.54 ERA in 101 2/3 IP last year), who's starting the night cap.

INF Gregory Barrios is still hitless with another K but fear not Areinamo just drove in Fernandez to tie the game at 5 apiece with a line drive single to CF. Runners on the corner. Wood to the dish.

Luke Adams will get the chance to knock in Areinamo here. He is up with Areinamo at 3B after the sharp grounder to 1B by Wood advanced the runner.

LHP Adam Seminaris worked around a two out double too the deepest part of the ballpark (although, it seemed like CF Carlos Rodriguez didn't take the best route to that ball that hung forever) by striking out his third batter with an off-speed (change?) that sunk to the dirt. A clean inaugural inning.

RHP Tanner Shears running into trouble here. Bases juiced with one down (on a web gem play from Areinamo at 2B). We have a single up the middle, a walk, a SB, and a walk.

Oh man he dug deep in that one and grabbed two consecutive punchouts - the final K on a full count from a 3-1 count and a very tight zone. Fantastic stuff. Hitting 95 on the gun. Tossing in a splitter and a change. Great finish Tanner!

OF Sal Frelick's early season struggles continue as he is now below the Mendoza Line. An 0-for-3 night so far sees his BA dip to 0.190. The Sounds do lead 3-2 here in the middle innings.

Honestly after watching him in the AFL, spring training, and to start the AA season, I think he's ready right now...

Wonder if he's injured or maybe tired after the WBC? Still really really early, though...

We are seeing some classic Low-A base running here in the Mudcats half of the 10th. Areinamo is held at 3rd on a looping single to CF and Wood rounds 2B too far and is picked off 2B. Then on a sufficient deep fly (by my eyes) Areinamo tags, takes off, but then mysteriously returns to 3B. Goodness. If they lose this one...that's some lack of courage on the basepaths by my eyes and a mental error rounding 2B.

And, on an 0-2 count OF Jace Avina took an inside heater up and into his hands. He was writhing on the ground for a minute there but is up and going to 1B - well Nicasia is on to pinch run tho Jace does look OK. What a wild inning.

He's pushing. Really overdoing it because he's frustrated. But, he's still giving 100% 100 mph effort. It will shift. These spells happen.

Welp, the Mudcats lose it 7-6. I can not believe they didn't send Areinamo and he didn't try to tag on the fly ball. Just a very very weird sequence. Matt Wood over running the bag proved huge. That's a very tough loss. Quinton Low had an AB opportunity to drive in runners with the bases juiced and 2 down. He missed a flare single over the 3B and down the line by about 2' foul and then popped out sky high to the catcher behind the plate. So it goes. That's three straight losses at Home and 4 straight overall. Luke Adams continues to hit the ground running in Low-A, however. He's an extremely exciting young prospect with a frame and build of a 25 years old man.
