I am getting tired of this team not being able to hit, for the past 3+ years we haven't been close to having a .300 hitter, hopefully Owen can break that if he get enough ab's (and does slump like the later part of last year).

Batting Leaders over .250 last 3 years

2023= Yeli .258, Rowdy .250  (Miller is about 50 ab's short of qualifying)

2022= Renfroe .255, Yeli .252, Wong .251

2021= Adames .285 (.262 including time with Rays), Wong .272, Narvaez .266, Garcia .262

2020=Arcia .260

That is super sad, also the only home grown talent on that list is Arcia, which didn't work out. Obviously there is a major flaw in how our system develops young bats, On top of that, the guys we get from other organizations seem to get worse at the plate every progressive year after we acquire them. I have high hopes that our young guys can hit over .250 consistently  and a few will be routine .300 hitters. I have been against making a big trade for a bat but every day I lean more towards trading for a reliable bat.

Team can't recover when guys go on the IL and the depth in minors, also happen to go on IL down there. Uribe, Frelick, and Hiura. Who else?

Winker is this year's acquisition you believed would help turn some of the offense around including himself from last season, but tanks further. He has 4XBH this season and 0HRs. He's nearly below his career average in slugging pct- .269-.274.  He's the DH like McCutchen was 82games last season and both batting/ed worse than .660 OPS being such.

The move to make? Preparing to trade Adames, Burnes, Tellez, Anderson, Taylor, DFA Brosseau and Taylor.  Pray they make it to that time healthy.  There's no bandaid out there to fix this roster. Just waiting for the IL guys to return. Waiting for your top prospects to mature in to the Major League team. Waiting for Turang/Wiemer to progress to better than average hitters which likely is next season.  Mitchell's season ending loss dropped the team from contender to pretender. Offense has not been good after he went down.

Team needs to acquire 1 or 2 SPs from the future trades who are at least #3s with TOR upside.

Its long past due that this team stops drafting so many punchless middle infielders early in the draft.

Whatever they are doing it needs to change ! Nothing in our minors never seems to translate to the majors as far as hitters go . maybe a new voice in the scouts and minor league coaching ! We know we won't spend at the major level  , so maybe invest more at the minor level !

It would be more than ok with me if Arnold follows Mr Met to New York after the season and we replace him with either John Hart or Jeff Luhnow. The fact is we are never going to spend competitively with this ownership group so the only way to get to the next level is with championship level executives so we draft and develop as well as the Rays.
