If you only take stats starting with the game in Colorado on May 4th when he changed his approach his barrel % goes up to 12.8% which is where he was in 2018.

Yelich has just matched his fWAR (2.2) from last year in less than half the games played. Not even halfway into the season, Yelich is worth as much as he has been since 2019…

Braun's OPS+ from '13-'19 were 136, 113, 131, 135, 111, 107, 116. Yelich's OPS+ for 2023 is 120.  It's pretty close.

He is having a very 2018 season where he was solid the first 100 games. Hopefully he his Barry Bonds-esque like the end of 2018 as well.

He's definitely back. Attacking 1st pitches hitting it for a HR again today is far different than the Yeli who held the bat til strike 1 called because walks was optimal for him.  He's locked in and swinging easy hitting them where he wants to. Predicting another 19HRs for him by end of season as I told my coworkers yesterday saying he's back He's got 20more HRs coming.
