Two rough days have put our full season affiliates at an aggregate of -5 (110 wins, 115 losses), but the good news is that there are 5 games today! Win ‘em all to end the weekend right.

The Sounds and Jumbo Shrimp picked up where they left off yesterday: tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning of a scheduled 7-inning game. RHP Matt Bush came in for his second rehab appearance.

Back and forth they go in Jacksonville. Matt Bush retired 3 players on ground outs. Cam Devanney doubled in a run to take a 2-1 lead. RHP JB Bukauskus came in for his 2nd relief start, giving up a 2-run shot. Then Eddy Alvarezresponded with a solo shot. 3-3, bottom of the 6th inning now.

The Low-A Mudcats haven’t won since RHP Will Rudy’s (1.53 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 29.1 IP) last start on Tuesday, but he’s back on the mound today to end their skid. DH Quinton Low gets his 4th appearance of the season as a position player.

High-A Wisconsin leads their series in West Michigan 4-1 and has RHP Edwin Jimenez (2.09 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 10.1 K/9 in 47.1 IP) ready for his 5th start (12th appearance). 20-year old Eduardo Garcia continues to man the shortstop position as the team awaits Eric Brown Jr.’s return.

Olympic speed skating silver medalist Eddy Alvarez smacked his second homer of the game, this one a 2-run shot to push the lead to 6-3 in extra innings in Jacksonville. Thyago Vieira grabs the win with a 2-inning stint.

That’s a good start to today’s slate of games.

Ugh. Carolina’s misery continues, as Will Rudy uncharacteristically gives up 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning on a walk, single, double and homer.

They trail 4-0 in the 3rd inning and desperately need a spark from somewhere, despite missing Daniel Guilarte, Luis Lara, Tayden Hall, Luis Castillo…

LHP Eric Lauer makes his 2nd rehab start for AAA Nashville, which is trying to clinch a 4-2 series win in Jacksonville. 25-year old C Payton Henry has two 4-hit games in his last 5 games played, lifting his OPS to .823.

AA Biloxi has a secret weapon in its quest to salvage a 3-3 series tie in Mississippi: LHP Wade Miley makes his first rehab start! 22-year old RF Carlos D. Rodriguez collected 2 hits yesterday to lift his team-high batting average to .278.

Ugh x 2. Eric Lauer’s not doing our Sounds any favors, giving up a single, double and homer on his first 8 pitches. 3-0 Jacksonville before any outs have been recorded.

Another single off Lauer, then an error on CF Monte Harrison gives Jacksonville a little league grand slam. 7-1 Nashville trails, still with nobody out in the 2nd inning.

We’ve got a sign of life in Zebulon, as RF Kay-Lan Nicasia hits a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 6th inning. The Mudcats now trail just 5-3. Let’s go!!!!

The Timber Rattlers’ series finale has been rained out. I’d imagine they’ll remain in Michigan, given their 12:05pm game at Great Lakes on Tuesday.

Nashville’s getting crushed 8-2 in the series finale, but at least Tyler Naquin has two home runs. I wonder if Naquin’s on the cusp of opting out of his MILB contract, with Sal Frelick returning to Nashville soon.

Wade Miley retired the first 6 hitters in his rehab start for Biloxi, then worked around two singles to start the 3rd inning. 0-0 after 3 innings.

Wade Miley kept is going through 5 innings, exiting with a 4-0 lead thanks to timely hitting (4-for-7 with RISP).

But within 4 batters of Bo Bowman entering in the bottom of the 6th inning, Mississippi had already cut it to 4-3. Nail biter.

Relievers Tobias Myers, Cam Robinson and Abner Uribe got the job done, helped by Tyler Black scoring an insurance run in the top of the 9th inning. 5-4 Shuckers victory

You can take Eric Lauer from the Brewers but you can't take the Brewers from Eric Lauer.

Am I right or am I right?! 🫠

Sigh. So many sighs.

Nice to see Chourio with 3 hits and a couple RBI’s. Black with two hits and two more SB, now a ridiculous 33 on the year. Biloxi needed that today.
