Can't wait for the well Rowdy will be back soon talk.

Gotta do something. Options aren't great but at least Rowdy has heated up the past two days on rehab.

Brewers just need to call up Hiura and Tellez. Not even sure either of them will hit, but they desperately need even the hope of a big bat in the middle of the order. I would call them up and rock this lineup.

1. Yelich - LF
2. Contreras - C
3. Frelick - CF
4. Hiura - DH
5. Tellez - 1B
6. Monasterio - 3B
7. Canha - RF
8. Turang - 2B
9. Adames - SS

Caratini - Burnes personal catcher

Santana - 1B platoon with Rowdy and 1B defensive replacement

Anderson - 3B defensive replacement

Taylor - 4th OF.

Option: Wiemer and Toro for Tellez and Hiura. DFA Jahmai Jones or Bennett Sousa to open up the 40-man spot for Hiura.

I'm not remotely a Hiura believer but he might have found his power stroke again and honestly there's more upside in his bat than Winker or Santana at this point.

Love it. Unfortunately Brewers apparently are not a results based organization.

It’s just hard to watch baseball in general anymore.    Once baseball got locked into the terms luck and random and bad luck and good luck and games are random it’s just become self defeating

coaches and players and gms are all caught up in this and they spend so much time trying to weed out anything that’s hard hit that’s an out.     It’s almost like it’s blasphemous to hit a ball hard but the shortstop catches it

so it’s ok to swing the bat in a way that doesn’t invite as much of chance to make contact but at least when it does on rare occasions it goes a long way.     I mean who cares if you strikeout ten times as long as you didn’t hit into the dreaded bad luck out.      It’s like it’s broken players  and organizations to a point

just hit the ball       Stop worrying about it       Striking out and popping up or rolling over on weak grounders because of your damn launch angle or massive long swing is just unproductive and bad

Get some rest, Willie!

Better days are coming very soon!

And at this point I'm bringing up Al LeBoeuf from Nashville to be hitting coach and dumping the current pair.

He is 62 and now that I am 60 I am rooting for seniors to get their day in the sun.

Texas can actually hit better than the Dodgers. I'm calling sweep.

I was told we could win all 6 games this week.

I'm frustrated but all told Brewers are in first place in August with an embarrassing offense to go along with poor fundamentals. In my view poorly managed. I think they hold on to win division but I would just refuse to report if they can win a series.

Sounds like a 1970s hockey player for the Hartford whalers.    I say why not

Agreed....what do they have to lose?

I don't think it's possible to be worse.

I don’t think they win the division.    But I’m actually intrigued about the wild card.    I actually think they could do that handicapping the teams now that I’ve actually spent some time on it.    But they have to finish ahead of the reds they can’t fall behind both the cubs and reds

True. They have a shot in round one as they will have home field. Round two they get swept.

Jeimer Candelerio was a huge missed opportunity by the FO. That they thought Santana would be fine instead is madness.

Not sure it would have made much difference....It's like this team has a perpetual virus that causes players to forget everything they ever knew about hitting when they join the club.

Counsell not asked about Wille night or what they have to change. Basically status quo and see you in Texas.

Has Counsell ever met Willie Key?

Eh, getting tired ... it's nearly midnight!

Get some rest on the plane, Brewers!

Give that man a hat....a golden sombrero.

Counsell doesn’t dare pinch hit him either….doesn’t matter how awful he looks in at bats on a given night. He’s playing like he is the coach’s kid.

I call it Jason Kendall syndrome.     It’s really hard to get rid of it once you have it

It might've been a missed opp, but I'd need to know what it would've taken to get him before I'd call it that.

Santana has actually barrelled a decent number of balls his last handful of games. The way this week has gone, the fact that he doesn't have much to show for it isn't surprising.
