You still said the Mets were the only other option besides the Brewers and that Stearns was planning this since 2021! Plus Cohen would pay anything to get Counsell which also looks foolish right now.

I also said if the Yankees job became available he would take the Yankees job.  It never became available.  But keep on believing your wild fantasy conspiracy theories.

If Counsell doesn't return to Milwaukee, it's probably not some indictment of ownership. It's probably just a combination of:

a) more money

b) new challenge

c) doesn't see a great short-term outlook for the Brewers and would rather not deal with a rebuild

Now, of course, even if the new team is in a rebuild, points a) and b) outweigh it.

Not only is he going to get paid, he is showing managers are valuable enough to dump the current guy to upgrade...just like you would a player. It is the ultimate power move.
