Counting Monday's contest, there will be five DSL games covered in Wednesday morning's Link Report.

I will see if I can jump in at lunchtime today to document at least a couple that Joseph can then copy and paste into that formal report.

Games scheduled to be completed in front of the regularly scheduled "nightcaps (daycaps)":

DSL Brewers #1 Squad 3, DSL Pirates Black 2, two innings complete

A Luis Pena RBI triple was followed by a Juan Martinez RBI single to give Team Uno a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st.

An eventful top of the 2nd saw the Pirates first batter of the inning reach on a third strike wild pitch by Panamanian 17-year-old RHP Manuel Moreno, who has posted a 0.92 WHIP in his debut season. The very next batter doubled, but a 9-4-2 relay threw out that runner at the plate on a questionable send with none out. The very next man up clubbed a two-run HR, and there was additional action that inning, but Moreno limited the damage.

The Cervecero Prime retook the lead on a Ludwin Tejeda sacrifice fly and then the game was called after that frame.

DSL Dodgers Mega 1, DSL Brewers #2 Squad 0, two innings complete

The Dodgers' run scored on a wild pitch in the first inning.

Luis Pena hit his sixth triple in a 1-for3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 3B day. He was CS for just his 4th time. He is now hitting an improbable  0.401 in 152 AB. Unreal.

I am pretty sure, without a definitive standings update, the Brewers Uno moved back within 1 G of the first place DSL Orioles Orange by winning both games today. The Orioles Orange lost 5-0 to the Orioles Black. Either way you peel this 2024 DSL banana, these are the best collective DSL seasons we've had since? The 'updated' standings show the DSL Crew winners of one game in a row but they officially won two today after completing a previous contest. SO, I may have to go back and tally their record myself.

Is this a DSL GameDay mirage I'm seeing, or is this real life??

A 4 W- 0 L day on the island?

We likely won't know for several hours. Heck, they may not have even played today. These could be yesterday's results! It's the Domican Twilight Zone.

Man, today's games and the overall records has me going back deep into the Brewers DSL record books. Fondly remembering that 2011 DSL Brewers season with Orlando Arcia. What a time.

Imagine being told this 10 years ago… Heck, even two years ago when we were salivating at the idea of Hedbert Perez.

The entire organization deserves a ton of praise for the turnaround that the academy has taken.

Man, Hedbert Perez taking strays and he's been mostly injured for two seasons! I continue to believe in Perez's swing. The results certainly haveno't been there consistently like any of us would like. BUT, when he's been healthy he has been a winner in Zebulon. Still just 21 years old through early April of next year. Really unfortunate injuries the past two seasons. Still a plus player positively impacting those Mudcats results - again, when healthy - solid defender with some pop in that lefty bat. Hopefully, he's recuperating nicely and will be back in the fold in 2025 - heck, maybe even late season for Carolina and/or in the AFL.

Just an example. He was getting the Chourio hype the year before Chourio arrived.

I hear you. As I've been going through the archives, I am remembering names like Jean Carmona, Aaron Familia, Yerison Pena, Igancio Ortand, Joantgel Segovia, Jose Aberro. AND, I will never stop being forever intrigued and lured into the "We've got another One!" fan trap. 😅 But, to your point, it certainly seems like the Brewers have really turned their International talent pool into a deep pool of talent with legitimate upside. And, of course, we still won't know for many many more years. The Complex itself, however, is truly a state-of-the-art addition to the organization.

SO, I went back and tallied the DSL Cerveceros Wins and Losses over their entire season (and, should they get in the playoffs I truly hope they can avoid the Cleveland Goryl who have given them fits every time they've played each other) and despite what the current Standings say today I actually have them at 30-15 overall with today's two 'W's. Which, by my count would mean they are only 1/2 GB the DSL Orioles Orange. BUT, honestly, who really knows in the ACL and DSL this season. Inning-to-inning. Game-to-game. I really don't know what results mean what. I did go through every recorded game since early June AND they are 30-15 if the record books are accurate. It currently states they are 28-15. I don't see it.

Big series for the Shuckers at Montgomery. Sitting at 21-11, the Shuckers have a chance to build on a 3.0 G lead over Pensacola and a 3.5 G lead over these same crusty Biscuits. Heck of a second half start for the Beach Chickens. Let's keep building toward that elusive post-season berth!

BE STILL MY HEART!

My guy, RHP K.C. Hunt has been promoted to the Biloxi Shuckers. Let's GO!

Sad Doctor Who GIF

Looks like Saturday will be the debut:

And, hey now, stop the presses:

We have a Yoho Triple-A promotion and Cargo hops aboard that Nashville train looking to take some lead-off work atop that Sounds line-up. Great to see Murray back as well with a chance to salvage his season.

Fantastic pre-game interview with SS Cooper Pratt on his early time in Wisconsin. He is such a likable young man. He was in line to get his Ole Miss parking pass when he got drafted 😅:

Perhaps, @CheeseheadInQCwill be reporting to us at some point this week. Regardless, Wisconsin travels to Quad Cities for game 1 of their 6 game series. Pratt is indeed back in the line-up. Love that 1-through-4. Love giving Rodriguez a chance to build off the momentum he closed the South Bend series with. RHP Patricio Aquino is back on the bump for his third consecutive start after coming out of the bullpen for his first four outings in July. Wisconsin remains 5.5 G ahead of second place Cedar Rapids and Peoria who remain the second half front runners given the T-Rats first half playoff berth. Quad Cities has plenty to play for only 1 G back of the Kernels and Chiefs.

Back home at First Horizon Park, the Sounds will be taking on the Indianapolis Indians. The ongoing mega rehab stint of LHP DL Hall continues. Right off the bat, Carlos D. Rodriguez is manning the RF grass. Black stays at 3B. Collins moves to LF. Let's gain some ground on those first place Columbus Clippers - the Sounds (18-14) remain 4.0 GB.

The Shuckers are back on the road looking to butter some Biscuits. Game 1 features the 2024 roller-coaster ride that is LHP Nate Peterson. Let's hope he brings his best stuff and avoids the blow-up inning. Ethan Murray is back and healthy manning 2B. EBJ will reside on that comfy web gem dirt at SS. Darrien Miller is back as the backstop continuing to defy all logic in the clean-up spot. I digress. Let's hope those Shuckers keep the second half machine fine-tuned and humming.
