Hall continues to allow way to many base runners for me to take his call-up all that seriously. I continue to have serious concerns about his heater - I just haven't seen any plus consistency there whatsoever. He worked around runners on the corners in the first frame and got the K swinging to end the threat (on a slider - his off-speed continues to be his best blend of pitches by my eyes by a good stretch).

Aquino has found some two out trouble here in the 1st. He just surrendered a full count walk to put men on the corners after the earlier one out double. Now, he has surrendered an RBI single to RF. Men on 1st and 2nd. Pitch count at 25. 1-0 deficit.

Second inning in a row Rodriguez has two men aboard via absolute duck farts into shallow RF. Castillo missed a sliding catch by a matter of inches. Men on 1st and 2nd in the 2nd frame. One down.

What have I consistently been saying about LHP DL Hall? His heater is way too flat. Just not moving in any consistent manner. He just gave up a lead-off solo bomb just over the LF fence to start the 2nd. He's had one outing in his entire rehab stint where I felt "OK, we can absolutely work with this." Beyond that, I've really seen only a handful of heaters here and there that qualify for me.

Hall follows that with a K. Then, in a 1-2 count he plunks the next hitter. The peripherals just don't lie. It's tough sledding for Hall.

LHP Nate Peterson just did what he's been doing throughout 2024: Hung a breaking ball dead center. Crushed for a HR. Shuckers trail 1-0. Peterson just hangs way too many pitches. He's now allowed 17 long balls in 65 2/3 IP on his season.

OH wait a minute! They are sending Tanner Murray back to 2B. No longer a HR in Montgomery. Noice! Point still stands: Mistake Hanger dead center. That ball was absolutely scorched either way. Bottom line is, however, it is currently simply a two-bagger.

I was going to say, I'm not watching that game but gameday had it as a ground rule double

Sparks rescues Peterson by running down a hard hit liner down the RF line. No runs cross. He was hit quite hard in that frame but escaped unscathed.

Called a HR by the infield umpire. They met as some ump crew huddle buddies for a couple minutes. They called it back. Much to the chagrin of the 3B coach. He was ticked. LOL. It was the right call according to the Montgomery booth.

Manuel Rodriguez has given up 5 pokes - his hardest hit ball was a line out, go figure - with two 60 some mph frog hops to RF in there. BUT, they've all been singles. He's worked around all the base running traffic. He likely won't go to a Quality Start given the early pitch count but he's still giving his team all they need.

WELL WAIT A MINUTE:

Jeff Hem just announced RHP Logan Henderson is in the Nashville dugout and will be pitching for Nashville this series. OK then! Friday start for Logan. SO, another move will need to be made by the Sounds by Friday to open that roster spot.

Meanwhile, RHP Patricio Aquino just gave up a two-run bomb with two down. 3-0 Quad Cities.

Yoshwar Garcia just ripped a deep two-run double with the bases juiced in Fredericksburg. 9-0 Muddies. Nobody down. Meanwhile, the Shuckers just had multiple runners aboard for the first time in their game 1. Bases juiced. One down. EMJ just hit a DP ball right up the middle. 0-0 game continues.

(Let me copy and past my now Hidden post in the Transaction thread. LOL)

After the double and oppo homer, Bitonti has now K'd looking (on a really tough inside pitch) and swinging on a center cut off-speed pitch he was very in front of. Baez still on 3rd. Two down.

Meanwhile, Peterson just had two down but walked the next batter from a 1-2 count. Gotta put that guy away. It was a Lefty on Lefty.

I'll be pounding the table for this point til I die a Brewers fan:

Brian Navarreto gets zero recognition or kudos from the fanbase. All he does is hit clutch knocks. He is responsible for both Sounds runs. He just hit an oppo double to RF to send in the go-ahead run. Roller now just hit a go-ahead Sac Fly. It's 3-1. Nava on 2B. Two down.

*Of course, this speaks to no aspect of his fantastic catching ability behind the plate. Just such an unsung fantastic player.

Peterson followed the two down free pass with another hard hit double. He hangs another one in the upper part of the zone and it's a two-run line drive single to LF. He had the inning in his bag. BUT, this is what he's done throughout his season - lacks that final follow-through. He will be pulled. All started with a two out walk after being ahead 1-2. Merkel is coming aboard.

Capra rips a two-run single to LF. Stretches it to a double on the throw up line as Collins beats the throw. It's a 5-1 Sounds lead! We are almost 'Ashby Safe'! 🫠
