Adams with a pinch-hit broken bat yet line drive single to left in his lone AB.

Merkel stranded an inherited runner while retiring the lone batter he faced.

Williams, Stallings, Middendorf and Cornielle with scoreless innings, with only one batter reaching (walk by Stallings). Cornielle gets the win!

Woessner surrendered two runs in the 8th before Vinny Capra took him off the hook with his walk-off blast, his second three-run HR of the game.

Technically, because he's a member of big-league camp as a non-roster invite, Darrien Miller doesn't qualify for this thread. However, wanted to point out:

Interestingly, fwiw, Henderson had a slider when he first arrived at Low-A Carolina. However, it had essentially been cast to the wayside as he worked through injury and the development plan as he returned. Very very nice to see it return if true. @Jake McKibbin talks about his outing HERE. I am hoping (wink wink) Brewer Fanatic reporters who have locker room access expressly ask about this early development in 2025.

Not sure if it ended up being touched on elsewhere already, but Logan confirmed with me today that the slider is back.  It was, obviously, put on the back burner for a while, but he thought it was the right time to add it back into his arsenal.  The organization believes that, once it becomes comfortable out of the hand again, it could be what puts him over the top from a quality MLB starter to a potential top-of-the-rotation arm.

For Hostetler and Sandberg, this was an official yet unofficial professional debut. Hostetler needed only six pitches to get three ground ball outs. Sandberg walked three before being pulled after registering two outs (the MLB Network feed, on one-hour delay, bypassed Sandberg's frame). Merkel's lone batter faced (K) was impressive. Burke's double to the left-field wall was an easy-swinging poke.

FYI: Big-league camp non-roster member Anthony Seigler, who did not play catcher at all in 2024, focusing on his conversion to second base (118 games exclusively), came in for William Contreras in this game.
