I know we have the win total prediction thread, but it's also fun to make predictions about individual players, too. Here's what I have following ST, and I'm curious to see other people's opinions on some of these categories:

MVP: Contreras (Chourio has a higher WAR season but Contreras remains as invaluable as ever behind the plate)

Cy Young: Peralta (new slider/cutter helps lead to best season since 2021)

Best Newcomer: Cortes (replicates 2024/2022 performances)

WAR Leader: Chourio (5.6)

HR Leader: Hoskins (31)

Breakout(s): Ortiz (becomes clear top 15/10 SS as he hits like healthy 1st half self), Yoho (becomes primary setup man)

Bounceback(s): Yelich (healthy 130+ games), Frelick (hits above .270 with an above average OBP and 10 or so HRs), Hoskins (hits many bombs another year removed from ACL injury without the lows of last season)

Disappointments(s): Mitchell (K issues finally catch up to him) Hudson (unable to rediscover first half form), Payamps (suffers from 2023-2024 usage)

All-Star(s): Chourio, Contreras (starters)

Bold Prediction: Joey Ortiz puts up a higher WAR than Willy Adames.

Sorry, your post cut off after Bounceback...I didn't catch the rest! Looks good!

But I'll play...even less than optimistic part.

Cy Young-Cortes
-I think working with the Brewers, they're going to get the most out of him. The Brewers are just so good at finding what a pitcher does well, helping them improve that and then ditch what they do poorly that I think bringing in a former All-Star on a contract year lines up VERY well for the Brewers...and we walk away with a comp pick for him(or a good pitcher next year).

Best Newcomer-Jose Quintana

I already used Cortes, he'll obviously be the best newcomer in this scenario, but I think Quintana can give us a really good 120IP and hopefully be there to lighten the load for Ashby, Hall, Misiorowski, our young arms who can't handle too many innings.

WAR Leader-Chourio- 7.8, Turang 2nd at 5.4

HR Leader-Chourio 34

Breakout-Uribe

-I'm hoping he can harness his emotions and his stuff as he could be dominant in the pen. Yoho seems to be a lock to be a very effective HL reliever, but Uribe has the best stuff of anyone in our Pen. Needs to serve his MLB suspension....and MiLB suspension for that matter, but if he can be the pitcher he's capable of, he can serve in that Hader role, coming in to get the middle of the order in the 7th or 8th.

-Bounceback- Rhys Hoskins

I was glad they didn't trade him. It would have likely cost 4-5M plus a decent prospect(some combination thereof). Worst year of his career. .245/.355/.480 30 HRs, 30 2B, 100 BB.

Disappointments-
-Upper Level Prospects. I don't think we're going to get much from Misirowski, Quero, Logan Henderson and...Tyler Black(not including Durbin). I think it'll be another year before the Brewers get impact talent from the farm. At that point, well, the flood gates open. Those three, Pratt, Wilken...maybe. Boeve...maybe even Made or Letson.

3B-I think our 3B will put up a ~680 ish OPS. Not real confident in Dunn or the reasons others are. His discipline and exit velo in the minors, but hope I'm wrong.

Bold Prediction-We have 3 All-Star Game Starters in Turang, Contreas and Chourio...who will start in CF next to his comp, Ronald Acuna Jr and Mooke Betts.

My prediction is we will not have as many injuries as last season.  Not sure where to find 2024's info on Brewers injuries but it had to be near a club record.
