RHP Garret Stalling strands two in the seventh salvaging Zimmerman's line after that Zamora error. He gets the 2-2 fly out to deep left CF. Sounds will face ol' teammate LHP Grant Wolfram.

Clarke is on for the fourth time on the evening - 2 singles (this one a fairly well hit oppo liner to RF) and 2 walks. He leads off with the base knock.

Stallings is trying to work around consecutive one out walks. He K's the very dangerous Basallo. He doesn't get chases so intentionally walks the next batter. Bases juiced. Two down. 6-6 game. RIghty on righty. Top of the 8th.

Goodness that's an insanely impressive debut.

Stallings gets away with a first pitch inside hanger. A hard hit comebacker headed up the hole and he snags it. Casually trots and underhand tosses to 1B. Heck of a stab! On to the bottom half and we'll stay knotted at 6-6.

Man, the Sounds have a chance to gain a game on all four teams ahead of them in the International League. This is a rare opportunity to pick up a game on all four in one tally.

6-6. Bottom of the 8th. Zamora follows the throwing error going down looking at a 95 mph heater at the knees on the outer half. Heck of a pitch. Two down.

Meanwhile, in the desert, Jorge Quintana just hit a long ball. 2-0 ACL Crew lead. His first long ball of his young season. Bottom of the 5th.

Boy, Peguero just hung an absolute belt high inside off-speed pitch. That ball was crushed 405 feet...but just foul. Man. That was a mistake slider. He went back to the originally intended location from the last pitch. He misses just low and outside. Free pass. Man aboard. One down.

Boy the Sounds are feeling generous tonight. To an offense they really have no business offering generosity too. Peguero walks his second consectuive. That's 8 walks for the Sounds staff. They have two errors. They have a passed ball. Two on. One down. Peguero misses again. Behind 1-0.

WOW. Seigler picks off the runner off the 1B bag on a 1-0 strike. Glorious play. Clarke snuck behind the base runner unawares. Seigler threw an absolute dart right on the money. Two down. What a fantastic play.

AND Peguero digs deep and K's Banuelo looking on a sinker just on the lower edge of the zone. Looking punch out. What an escape.

Man, looking at that ACL Brewers line-up. How wild to see all these names stateside. We've been poring over their DSL output for the past couple of years. What a time.

In a 3-2 count, Adam Hall K's swinging at a slider dipping well below the zone and to his feet. Ugly look for the challenged bat of Hall. Lead off K.

Oliva singles and doesn't try for the extra base for a change much to the pleasure of Oliver Dunn. He'll get the chance to walk it off.

Yikes. Strike them out throw them out. Dunn K's on an elevated heater. 0-for-4 on the evening as his Triple-A BA dipped below the Mendoza Line. Oliva is thrown out for the first time this season. On to extras.

Man has Engel Paulino come out of the gates swinging in the desert. He just ripped another double. ACL Crew have put three across in the fifth. They lead 5-0. Ortuno with two knocks including a lead-off single to start the inning.

Clarke can't handle another throw to first base. He has had three opportunities to grab short hops tonight. He misses for the third time. He has to make that stop to start extras. They give the error to Delgado who made a fantastic sliding stop. First baseman has to help his fielder there. Clarke is 0-for-3. He got a lot of leather on that bounce. Ugh. Men on the corners. Nobody out.

Liranzo got ahead to the next batter. Uncharacteristically, he walks him. Instead of one down with the DP in play. Zero outs. Bases juiced. The very dangerous exit velo monster in Basallo to the dish.

Whew. Huge. K's Basallo swinging on a tailing 97 mph heater away and off the plate. The dangerous lefty is down. DP could end the threat here.

Liranzo falls behind 2-0. He comes back and gets a K looking. A dead center heater swing and a miss. Misses low and inside off-speed. 3-2 count. Hard liner to LF. Hall gives it his all. One hops. Bang bang. He just beats the tag. Good throw by Hall. Didn't know he had it in him. None the less, 7-6 Norfolk. They grab a run.

Oooooof. Vazquez hits a 3-2 oppo long ball over the RF wall. That's a four spot. 10-6 lead. Welp. That drop by Clarke? HUGE. It won't show up in the box score but as I always say: the Minor League box scores rarely tell the tale of the game.
