I’m ok whatever we do but put it this way….

We can roll with Durbin and we might be fine.   But to give up prospects for Suarez or McMahon when we have the ability to get Candelario super cheap for no prospects, that’s gonna irk me.   All have warts mind you.

Maybe we add none of the three (most likely) but if we can get Candelario for a million or so (if we want to try add to the left side of the IF at some point) I’d prefer this option.   I’m cool rolling with Durbin though but then don’t go after Suarez or McMahon imo.

No thanks on Candelario, I would rather see Bill Hall play 3B than him.

Nate I kind of agree, but are you one that wants to pay 2-3 likable prospects for McMahon or Suarez?  Personally I stand Pat.

Candelario over the last four years: 92 wRC+

Durbin in his MLB career so far: 91 wRC+

Durbin is more versatile, a better defender, a better baserunner, and at least has the potential (albeit far from a sure thing) to improve. I would much, much rather stand pat.

Suarez has a OPS near 900 and is on pace for a 5 WAR season

McMahon has been hot as of late with an OPS of ~840 in the month and he's been hitting very well on the road. I'm not sure why that's a crazy position.

You're comparing a Middle of the Order Bat, a great defensive, but average offensive 3B(who needs to adjust to playing outside Colorado) with one of the worst hitters in the game this year.

Of course, I don't know what "likeable" means in this context. KC Hunt or...whoever.

But they'd both be able to help quite a bit.

Suarez will cost more than people think as he will probably be the best bat on the market if the Dbacks even put him on the market.  There are a few teams with holes at 3B or even DH that will over pay in prospects.  I think Suarez cost will be at least 1 5-10 team ranked prospect, 1 15-20, one lottery ticket from the DSL and one AAAA player.  That is just not worth it for about a half of a season of Suarez.

I don't like McMahon never have and never will.  I see him as an overrated player and someone that this board has somehow got a huge crush on.  The Rockies won't part with him for the peanuts that have been suggested in trades here.

I don't want to see the Brewers trading from their prospect depth unless it is for someone like Sabathia, Greinke or Yelich (the younger version of Yelich).  If the Brewers can get a deal that won't cost them top prospects then sure trade for Suarez but I don't believe this will be true.  I also don't believe there is a Sabathia, Greinke or Yelich type on the market to trade for.  At best you are looking at Suarez who may not even be available.  The Dbacks are only 2.5 games back for the final wild card spot.  Unless you are willing to give up someone on the roster now for Suarez and no Myers would not be of interest to the Dbacks.  Patrick would probably be of more interest to the Dbacks and I think you would have to add in a prospect like Henderson or Adams to make the Dbacks consider a trade.  That is just way too much for Suarez.

Anyone that looks at his numbers on the road, and still wants him, I have to question their sanity.  lol
