Nice time for Wande Torres to deliver his best start of the year. 73 pitches and 6 Ks are both season highs. He may even pick up his first stateside win :)

I LOVE this for Wande. That was a massive escape in the third frame after that WP advanced a one out runner to 3B.

Another two men on, two out escape for RHP K.C. Hunt to end his 3rd frame. He gets the K swinging on an off-speed pitch that tailed out of the zone to a lefty - really nice pitch. 0-0 as the Shuckers head to the 4th.

I have a friendly bit of advice for all Minor League ballpark media outfits:

We do not care about your camera view from behind home plate. This is your deep back-up angle to watching a baseball game. There is truly no need to cut their for an entire AB. Thank you for reading my words. Carry on.

Fantastic fourth inning for Torres. The fact he is only at 49 pitches is just beautiful.

PRATT. 2-Run Jack over the LF fence scores Lara who reached via a slow rolling seeing eye single to RF. 2-0 Shuckers baby.

Recently-turned 25-year old Ethan Murray is having quite the Devannesque turnaround in his AA repeat (well, 3rd time actually). Awesome to see!

Truly love this for Him. Such a fantastic versatile defender. It absolutely looked like he was struggling through health issues greatly limiting his movement in 2024. This run he's on absolutely gives credence to that notion.

Man, Ordonez ripped a first pitch liner with runners on the corners right into the 1B glove shading just off the bag. Unbelievably bad luck. He scorched that ball. So it goes. Baseball. I am personally into the bottom of the 5th and am really looking forward to the upcoming Mudcats runs. 😜

RHP K.C. Hunt has 5 K through 4 IP. He's had some two out hiccups but all in all he's coming into his own by these middle innings. Love to see it. Just had one of the most unorthodox ground out gathers I've seen to the mound for the second out in the 4th. Truly a hilarious play.

OK. We got the lead-off hustle two-bagger from Made to open the Muddies 6th. Peña followed with the high chopper over the leaping 3B and we have the 1-1 ball game. I do believe the Jose Anderson bomb is awaiting me. I do say I am elated to know this ahead of time. Bitonti just walked. Two men on.

Oh yes. Anderson absolutely ripped that ball. 107 mph on that hanging off-speed offering. Woot woot. Nice way to send off a starter.

I just have to say:

I absolutely love the season 3B Filippo Di Turi is putting together. He has really turned himself into a serious prospect in 2025.

Well, that three-run one out bomb to LF was not fun from RHP K.C. Hunt. Another walk - this one came back to haunt him. Just a moon shot that may have gone over the LF foul pole. Shuckers trail 3-2 as they head to the 6th.

Wow. Murray leads off the sixth inning with a backside 1-2 oppo bomb over the RF wall to immediately tie the game 3-3. What a poke.

Ethan Workinger has absolutely killed the Shuckers - he hit how many HR in that last series?? (the one that started the amazing offense roll the Shuckers had been on)

Hunt is not the same guy we saw last year. Not sure what can help him out, but he has those flashes, and then a walk or a couple of hittable pitches and the game goes sidewides for him.

7-of-12 HR on his season have come against the Shuckers. It's amazing.

Welp, Nova led off his third batter with a dead center heater and the Shorebirds now trail 5-3. Two run bomb over the RF wall. 105 mph off that bat. Not a wall scraper.

Nova has some stuff. A pretty filthy hard slider. He can touch mid-90's on the heater. Just has to work on execution and location. Gets the ground out to Made at SS. Has a K. Gets the jam shot weak ground out to 3B to close his frame. There is stuff to work with here.

Nice to see Murray getting time at 3rd

Indeed. Murray is pretty much a defensive savant anywhere he plays on the diamond. Absolutely has the cannon arm to cover the hot corner. Absolutely has the glove to play any position on the infield dirt. It's just wonderful to see him rediscover that bat from 2023. I will not let go of the fact he was pushing himself through some injuries last season. I feel for him. THIS is the real Murray we are seeing in 2025.

Yup he (Workinger) feasts on the Shuckers. Wow.

And this is the 3rd time they play each other (7-6 Shuckers lead  so far) and it had been the road team in this series typically let's see if that hold true tonight and the next few nights.

Biloxi lost series 2-4 in Biloxi home opener week

Biloxi took 5 of 6 in Columbus to start that great winning streak
