AAA Nashville can clinch a series win at Durham and LHP Bruce Zimmermann aims to continue his solid 5-game run (1.73 ERA in last 26 IP). Will DH Daz Cameron homer for a 3rd straight game?

High-A Wisconsin seeks to end a tough week with a 2nd consecutive win over South Bend at home and LHP Sam Garcia needs to bounce back from his Tuesday start (5 IP, 7 R, 3 Ks in 92 pitches). DH Hedbert Perez needs one more homer to tie CF Eduardo Garcia for the team lead (12).

Low-A Carolina needs a Sunday victory behind LHP Wande Torres (5.82 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 51 IP) to claim a 3-3 home series draw against Fredericksburg. DH Braylon Payne (.802 OPS in 241 PAs vs. league-average .663) has 5 homers in his last 16 games.

AA Biloxi need a Sunday home win over Birmingham to avoid entering their 4-day holiday on a 7-game losing streak. RHP Alexander Cornielle threw 72 pitches on Tuesday (5 IP, 5 R, 4 Ks, 2 HRs). 20-year old CF Luis Lara leads the team in AVG, hits, doubles, stolen bases and runs.

I feel like Tyler Black needs to embrace his old identity: high OBP + big-time threat on the basepaths.

He just “Juan Baez’d” an opportunity in the 5th inning, grounding out on the first pitch to end the inning after Blake Perkins (4-pitch walk) and Daz Cameron (7-pitch HBP) had gotten the opposing reliever’s pitch count up.

It’s a bullpen game for Durham and Bruce Zimmermann has allowed Zero earned runs, but the Sounds trail 2-1.

To his credit, Black had an RBI single after Cameron doubled in the first inning.

Of Will Childers’ first 11 pitches, 8 were in the zone and Durham swung at those 8 pitches confidently, scoring 2 runs on 2 doubles and 2 singles. Thankfully one player got greedy and was thrown out trying for 3rd base.

Durham 4, Nashville 1 in the 6th inning.

I’m pleased to report that Black walked on 4 pitches 2 innings later to load the bases and a run came across 2 pitches later on a wild pitch. Too bad Dalbec followed by swinging and missing at 2 pitches out of the zone.

Durham 4, Nashville 2 in the 8th inning. Yoho is in.

Whoops. Black watched strikes 2 and 3 for the 2nd out of the 9th, after Daz Cameron’s RBI single had scored Blake Perkins (doubled) to cut it to 4-3. And Dalbec flied out to end it.

Cameron (2-for-3, double, walk. RBI, SB) and Zimmermann (5 IP, 2 R (0 ER), 6 Ks) did enough to win, but the Sounds fall 4-3.

Over in Grand Chute, Eduardo Garcia is doing everything in his power to deliver  victory (HR, 2B, 1B, SB), but Wisconsin trails 4-3 in the 6th inning.

The Timber Rattlers have gotten 2 innings each from Sam Garcia (1 ER), Jack Seppings (3 R (2 ER)). and Patricio Aquino (0 R).

Adam Hall has an RBI double, RBI single and an outfield assist, doing everything he can to help Biloxi break its 6-game losing streak.

Alexander Cornielle threw 72 pitches, but only completed 2 2/3 innings.

It’s 3-3 in the 6th inning.

Jesus Broca covered the 7th and 8th frames for Wisconsin, allowing 1 run for a 5-3 deficit.

Hits from Burke, Perez (double) and Baez (RBi single) produced 1 run in the 8th inning for the T-Rats.

Yhoswar, Blayberg and Guilarte are due up, down 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th.

Peek, Manfredi, Bowman and Yeager have combined on 6.1 scoreless relief innings, with Peek also stranding 2 baserunners for Cornielle.

It's 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th and time for the the Shuckers' offense to reward this sterling bullpen effort.

Hall, Spain and Vargas are due up.

Wisconsin needs 1 run to tie, so Yhoswar singled, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error.

Blayberg (rough game) unfortunately K'd. Can Guilarte and his .128 AVG come thru to tie the game at least?

Oh my. They pinch hit Tayden Hall for Daniel Guilarte and Hall K'd on 5 pitches. Now everyone feels terrible. Shoot!

And Jadher grounds out to complete an 0-for-5, zero K day for him.

Wisconsin loses 5-4, as Yhoswar got to watch 14 pitches, 2 Ks and a ground out while standing 90 feet from scoring.

Adam Hall led off the bottom of the 9th with a walk.

But despite being 18-of-19 on stolen base attempts in 2025, they do not have him try for second.

Spain pops out. Vargas grounds out. Lara earns an infield hit and Boeve flies out.

To extras they go in Biloxi, tied 3-3.

Brian Fitzpatrick induced back-to-back-to-back fly outs in the 10th, but that was enough to score the Manfred man on a sac fly.

Pratt, Warren and Murray are due up in the bottom of the 10th, trailing 4-3.

Warren also flies out, then Murray K's to end it.

Biloxi loses 4-3, despite not allowing any earned runs in 7.1 innings of relief.

All three affiliates lose by one run?

Ouch, but if that’s the kind of voodoo it takes for the MLB squad to go streaking I guess we’ll have to live with it.

I mean yes.  Early season Carolina was mashing, winning and then Biloxi caught fire.

On may 24th the big league club was 25-28.  Now 31 -12 since.

Biloxi still competing despite losing Adams and Wilken to injuries, Crow to promotion, and recently missing Pratt.

Wisconsin was red hot for a stretch that just happened to coincide with Dinges promotion through his injury.

Carolina could not lose early, but now struggling a bit as Made and Pena are pushing past the game/at bats they had all last season, and losing Dinges (promotion), Payne for a stretch.

So yeah the past week was a big downer in the minors. But I’ll take the overall results, pray for health and safe return to action for the injured players, and excited to read about the newer pool of prospects that will enter the organization starting tonight. (Even if I know I will be scratching my head at first with their first few selections, but the past 2-3 drafts have made me trust in their ability to evaluate and have a cohesive plan)

yeah I’ll take it.

Thanks @Ro Mueller for manning the fort of the minor league updates today! And as well as @Joseph Zarrand @sveumrules among several others these past few days. And welcome back @MudcatsfaninBrunsCO
