Chris Edwards will make the switch to Wilson as the Broadcaster and Media Relations of the Warbirds.

This is huge. Absolutely love Chris Edwards on the mic. He is a boon to the current Mudcats experience and am truly grateful he'll be going ahead and staying on with the Warbirds.

I'm totally with you Joseph. When Greg Young announced in February 2024 that he would not be coming back, I was devastated. When Colin announced he was quitting after a month, I was like... what are we going to do, have a new one every month? Nope, We hire Chris and he was the best find! I loved Chris before he came to Zebulon so that is what I glad about. He lives about 30 minutes from Five County and an hour or so from Wilson so was very shocked but excited about this news!

 

P.S Chris is still not on the FO page of the website, haha

Well, the Mudcats still use Greg Young's voice over in many of their in game broadcast adverts. I am entirely unsurprised. They are a Low-A bootstrap op - and, hey, Chris might be in charge of that very thing or an intern😅

Slightly off topic, but did Wilson front the money for the new stadium and we just use it? Or did we have a hand in it all? I know we purchased the team back before covid happened.

I believe Wilson County used tax dollars to pay for it but not sure. I'm in Southeastern Wake Co so.
