Can Zimmerman wow us again with another Quality Start? I've truly enjoyed watching the savvy lefty vet sling it in 2025. Here's hoping he has one last brilliant outing left in the Tank.

Well, hey now! Zimmerman's contract was just selected by the Milwaukee Brewers. Epic. I absolutely love this for Zimmerman. A real Lindblom lefty-type with everything but the kitchen sink in his bag of tricks. Low velo, yes. But, he has been really solid for the vast majority of the season.

The thought at least crossed my mind (for a split second…nothing serious) that Zimmermann could be called up as long relief for Patrick, since Patrick isn’t stretched out and just pitched on the 14th and 16th.

We’ll then probably DFA Zimmermann tomorrow and have Gasser start Sunday’s game.

Back to the Sounds, then, what are we thinking? Zimmerman and Maciejewski in some type of tandem? McGee last pitched on this short of rest (2 days as of today) back in late August when he pitched back-to-back outings as a Brewer. Now, this being said, they did just bring Cy 'Babe' Kahle back off the Development List.

Why not shock us with Hunt or Hardin, similar to Cornielle’s somewhat surprising call-up last week?

Well, they are sitting at 28 Active players. By my eyes, however, they do potentially have room for two more players on the Development List? I guess that 'could' happen. I don't know how likely that is with only two games remaining but that is an option I do believe.

If there’s no roster move, then maybe Peterson will have to throw 4 innings.

In their penultimate game of the 2025 campaign, the AAA Nashville Sounds look to clinch a series victory at Louisville behind spot starter LHP Josh Maciejewski (2.77 ERA with 20 Ks over last 26 IP). 2B Anthony Seigler has 5 multi-hit games in his last 7 contests.

4 batters, 4 runs for the Sounds.

Is that a good ratio?

…highlighted by an Anthony Seigler 12-pitch single and a Tyler Black 372-foot homer.

Being bound and determined to get more outs from spot starter Maciejewski does not actually mean we’ll get more outs.

Shoot.

6 of the first 7 Louisville hitters score in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Rather unfair to Josh in my ignorant opinion, as the last 4 batters went HBP, 103.1mph double, 102.9mph single, 102.4mph 3-run homer.

A 7-1 lead is now a 7-7 tie.

So now LHP Nate Peterson comes in.

Nate Peterson was absolutely developing on his recent Development List stint. 3 2/3 scoreless innings so far. Still tied 7-7 in the, you guessed it, 7th.
