Biloxi Press Release:

BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers have announced that UTL Jheremy Vargas has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville, 1B/OF Tayden Hall has been promoted from High-A Wisconsin and RHP Edwin Jimenez has been promoted from the Rookie-level ACL Brewers. Jimenez has been assigned No. 34. Hall has been assigned No. 9. The active roster now stands at 26 players.

***

This is the first taste of AAA for the soon-to-be 23-year-old Vargas, first time at the AA level for the 23-year-old Hall, while Jimenez gets his first taste of AA after missing the 2025 season following Tommy John surgery (June 2024). Jimenez, 24, did make seven appearances in the Arizona Fall League in 2025.

It appears to be official after McCalvy's tweet-to-deleted tweet as Nashville issued a press release:

- OF Greg Jones had his contract selected by the Milwaukee Brewers (the corresponding move to Vargas' promotion; Yeli's IL placement; and Zastryzny's IL status moved to 60-Day)

  • RHP Enrique Velasquez released by DSL Brewers Gold

18-year old Velasquez from Venezuela was signed in January 2025, pitching in 9 games (2 starts) in the 2025 DSL season. The .218 batting average against wasn't bad, but a 9.19 ERA and 18 BB / 3 K ratio in 15.2 IP could be improved upon. We wish the young man luck in his next opportunity.

Via the Sounds:

Fernandez signed as a minor league free agent with the DBacks in January but had yet to make his 2026 debut. He last pitched in the majors in 2022 with STL (his longtime original club) and a brief stint in Pittsburgh. Fernandez has since pitched in the minors with four other organizations, as B-Ref indicates, mostly in relief stints.
