2025 second round pick LHP JD Thompson makes his professional debut, as High-A Wisconsin seek a Saturday home win over Quad Cities to come back from a 1-3 series deficit. 3B Andrew Fischer’s walk-off homer last night gives him 6 dingers in 2026, tied for 2nd in the Midwest League.

Nice game 1 for the ACL squad. 

Awesome professional debut for Mr. Thompson.  And some nice work by Travis Smith. Slow start to his professional career, but he has had a nice year at high A. And will likely see AA this year. Starter profile but could move quickly with a bullpen move I would guess.

Andrew Fischer 1 for his last 12 with 7 K.  The lone hit was that game winning HR last night. So a mini slump for him but still a game winner in the middle of it.

and as I type this Travis Smith gives up a 1 out HR in the 9th. Biedergb jinx in full effect lol. 2-1 TRats still lead and Smith has a chance to close it out still.

The lineup features professional debuts for 18-year old 2B CJ Hughes (2025 11th round pick) and 19-year old C Rylan Mills (2025 18th round pick). Rehabbing RHP Josh Knoth will see his first official action since August 2024.

22-year old RHP Jacob Morrison (2025 third round pick) makes his professional debut as Low-A Wilson aims to grab a 3-2 home series lead over Salem. DH/OF Handelfry Encarnacion smacked a grand slam yesterday and lifted his average to .202 and OPS to .702.

After dropping the first game of today’s doubleheader at Pensacola, the AA Shuckers trail the series 3-1. RHP Manuel Rodriguez (5.12 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 7.4 K/9 in 19.1 IP) starts the nightcap. C Matt Wood (.753 OPS in 70 PAs) and 3B Jheremy Vargas enter the lineup for this Game 2.
