Organizational Scoreboard

We plan on a three-game Link Report for Tuesday AM. The ACL Brewers (14-13) game begins at 8:00 PM Central in Maryvale vs. the woeful Dodgers (8-19).

At 10:00 AM Central, the DSL Brewers Blue squad (3-2) visits DSL Red Sox Red (2-2), and the DSL Brewers Gold club (1-4) hosts the DSL Braves (1-4).

Listing the day's birthday:

Wilson Warbirds OF Handelfry Encarnacion enjoys his 19th birthday with a day off. We are investigating if this is how the young man celebrates after blowing out his candles.

Gotta love how 7-0 deficits are nothing to worry about in the DSL.

Gold have scored 12 unanswered behind homers from Matthew Moses (grand slam), Angeni Fernandez (1st career HR), Osiris Ramirez (3rd HR this year) and Jefer Lista to lead 12-7 through 4 innings.

19-year old RHP Derlin Garcia pitched 5 innings in his last outing, so may close this game out by pitching the 3rd through the 7th innings (only scheduled to play 7 IP).

Granted I’m only following our box scores, but the amount of power that our DSL teams are showing compared to the opponents is jarring.

This seems like an awesome class of IFAs, and the holdovers seem to have taken a step too.

Derlin Garcia did just that striking out TEN against only 2 H | 1 BB in his five scoreless frames.

DSL Azul prevails by a score of 8 to 5.

Five of their nine hits in the seven inning contest went for extra bases including doubles from Gerlyn Payano, Enrique Lovera, and Jose Rodriguez, plus a triple from Leanders Matos, and a home run from Leonard Rijo.

So Priester .... um 35  strikes in 73 pitches, with 5 BB, 1 HBP and 3 WP.  Yikes.
He did go 2.2 IP so he is starting to throw longer. But his control  is ... um 'not there'

I wonder if we will ever see him pitch in the majors again - yes I know how ridiculous that sounds, but here is a guy who was borderline ace at times last year, and cannot pitch 2 IP in rookie league very well, and if he does have to do surgery it may be a 1-2 year recovery.  I want him to succeed, but that story does not sound great. I want to ridiculed for being wrong on this.
