Add a game on the Dodgers and Cubs and half game on the Braves.  If just for a day...

"If just for a day" sounds like an AA slogan.  We are free to discard the ideas that inhibit our growth as Brewer fans "If just for a day."

In somewhat unrelated news, with all the money LAD just throws around buying all the best players along with their only weakness being closer since Kenley fell off I don't get why they didn't buy Hader.  It was a complete perfect fit.  Almost have to wonder if he just did not want to play for them or be in LA

Probably wasn’t available or at least not for any realistic price. He would have been a great fit for any contender. I don’t think the Astros were really actively looking to sell off a piece like that when they’re in 1st place. Although I can appreciate the irony of Hader being sold at the deadline twice in his career by a 1st place team.

I did it!  I stayed out of this thread last night except for some reactions.   Turned the game off for good as Muncy's 3 run shot cleared the wall.   Been pretty rough the past few weeks with the anemic Brewers offense.   And then last night around 12:30 am I came back to this thread and read through pages 12 & 13 and saw the unreal happened.  5 freaking hits in the top of the 9th and 3 of them happened with runners in scoring position.   And I noted the boss, JAKE BAUERS had the game winning hit!   For all the grief this guy has been given I am so glad he is the offensive MVP of this team through 122 games.

I meant when Hader was a FA.  It was the most obvious fit possibly ever.

Instead, its continued as a weakness for LA since and they keep shoveling money at it that fails. Had to scramble last postseason and got lucky that Sasaki flopped as a starter but did good at it this in the playoffs.

ETA: I suppose they realize the mistake and that's why they went all out for what was a true elite in Diaz, but then he got hurt right away.  They're not dumb though, I'm sure they were willing to pay Hader as he was the best reliever of this era before Miller came along, that was my question though. I wonder if he just didn't want to be there
