Easy one first - who gets sent down or DFA'd? I will be surprised if it's anyone other than Ornelas.

How do you think the Brewers will divvy up playing time? Me? I think they'll take Bauers out of the OF rotation for a while and do a 2-out-of-3-man platoon with Mitchell/Lara/Frelick in CF/RF (Chourio would get a day or two off here and there, too). I'd like to see what a healthy Frelick brings to the table here,

Then, regrettably, I think they might admit it's time to decrease Yeli's role. I don't know if this is what they're thinking, but it might make sense for Bauers and Vaughn to switch off between DH and 1B pretty much every day. Bring Yeli in occasionally, but maybe twice a week and in PH roles for Vaughn when he's DH and there's a righty on the mound.

All of this makes sense. Over the last 2-3 weeks Lara has stretches where he looks maybe not quite ready (at the plate), and then he does something like last night---that was a beautiful AB. With Mitchell, Frelick & Yelich all LHH Lara can be particularly important--not much difference in his splits in AAA w/more pop from the RH side,

Especially if Frelick returns to something closer to what we saw last year, there will be pressure on Yelich to continue to get regular DH swings. And Bauers seeing less time in the OF definitely looks to be in the cards. I'm just not sure how often it'll be either Bauers or Vaughn DHing. There will be options. Hell, after 9-1 we may see Naylor here, which frees up Sanchez to DH w/o having to worry about running for him or Contreras & burning your only backup.

Oh, and Ornelas going, that's pretty easy money.

Should be giving all of Sal's ABs vs. LHP to Lara.

Sal has at least been passable vs. RHP this year. Not so much vs. LHP.

Honestly, though, Sal is going to have to perform a lot better, including on defense, if he's going to take a ton of ABs from Lara. Replacement level production ain't going to cut it down the stretch, as much as he's Murph's guy.

I think Sal has been hurt all season. Dude was walking around like an old man in April.

If he comes back healthy, he could really provide a little spark (holistically) at the end of the season. He's performed in big moments, and he could provide the whole team with a sense of confident determination.
