I think Davey Nelson is a pretty good baserunning coach. Aside from Brady Clark, he's had some pretty good success stories with base stealers. The stuff that goes on on the bases in more on the player's heads, IMO. Going from first to second on a liner to RF is, well, stupid. That has to do more with player maturity than anything else.

well, look at the bright spots. rickie with 3 hits and 2 HR (and one bone-headed rally killing base running mistake), and JDLR looking real good - throwing all strikes. Junior's fly ball out the only hard hit ball off him.

 

 

btw, for those not watching reds telecast, their announcers just said weeks reminds them of Ron Gant and Julio Franco, and questioned whether rickie will stay at 2B for long...
