The Cards offense isn't that strong now. No Walker, No Sanders, No Rolen. Instead they have been starting Mabry, Rodriguez, and Taguchi (I believe). I'll take my chances with them. Offense, to me, is a draw right now.

Very true.. It's no lineup that's anything special but they continue to win without Rolen, Walker, Sanders, Molina.

True, but I'd much rather face that lineup than what we saw in April.

A 2-1 series win and we have a world of confidence when we have to go to St. Louis again.

Considering the line-up they're putting out on the field for the series, and the fact that we're missing Mulder and Carpenter, I'm not afraid to call for a sweep.

SWEEP!

Was anyone else disgusted by this post in the Cardinal forum?

Lets hope that we can win these games and extend the lead in the Central. I don't like it when the lead dips under 10 games. I hope we can extend it to maybe 14 or 15. Hopefully Matty Mo will be on his game tonight.

Cardinals fans seem to be just reaching for things to complain about... must be nice.

Game is televised nationally on ESPN tonight. We can show the country what we have to offer. . . . ummm Victor Santos . . .

Does anyone know who's calling the game on ESPN tonight?

Yeah, I know...I'm the radio guy, and I should know how to do this myself. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Please let it be Gary Thorne and Steve Stone.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

So do we know for sure when Reyes is starting?

Someone on MJS forums said he was going tonight.

Anyways,

Morris

Suppan

Reyes

is alot more appealing than seeing Mulder or Carpenter.

Cardinals fans are a different breed...being surrounded by them (I live about 20 min from downtown STL) is an experience. Last year made most of the fans here arrogant, despite the collapse in the series. I think they feel about the Cards much the same as many 'Sconsinites do about the Packers, they expect them to dominate. I haven't found too many fans who know thing 1 about their farm system...I guess you don't have to really care about stuff like that when half your team are all-stars..the only other thing I can say about them is that they are getting a new stadium for NO good reason. There is nothing wrong with Busch, and the new stadium pretty much looks the same, just bigger, what a waste of money

I'm baffled that the Cardinals win consistently with their current lineup. At least we aren't facing Joaquin Andujar tonight, and Dane Iorg isn't in their lineup.

Call up your friends, family and everyone else you know and tell them to leave ESPN on during the Brewers game, even if they dont watch lets get the Brewers some high numbers for ESPN.

Its simple, the Cardinals are very well coached, don't make a lot of mistakes, play sound defense and have great pitching. Its pretty rare to see them make mental mistakes costing them games. If you managed to cut the brewers mental mistakes in half we'd be where Houston is right now.

Does anyone know how they do TV ratings? Do they still have boxes that the Nielson people put on your TV to monitor what you watch? I've never known anyone who has been a part of one of these ratings surveys.

I believe it's Brantley & O'Brien calling the game. As far as the old Neilsen box goes, I don't think they employ that tool any longer. The cable network can gauge it's audience electronically I think.

TiVo and other digital boxes can keep (and anonymously report) records of your TV habits, but Nielsen boxes are still used to produced the Nielsen ratings.

(That is, according to the good folks at NielsenMedia.com...)

I was at that world series game that Andujar won in '82 before getting smoked with a liner up the box that I initially thought killed him....

And i still loathe Willie McGee.
