The problem is, no other team is to the point where they would even consider taking Jenkins and his salary for "free".

If Sheets were 6-3 with a 3.56 ERA I'm sure people would be thrilled, so I'm not going to jump on that mediocre bandwagon just yet.

I just noticed that the Cubs DFA'd Joe Borowski to make room on the 25-man roster for Kerry Wood. Interesting.

Now that he's no longer a Cub (or soon to be no longer a Cub), I gotta give some props to Joe B. He sounds like a very level-headed, reasonable guy who is doing his best to come back from a whole bunch of bad luck / injuries. The Brewers don't really have any use for him, but I hope he catches on somewhere else and resurrects his career.

 

With that taken care of, the Cubs suck.

Wow, if Kerry Wood was healthy for the majority of his career, his stats would be even more sick. The fact that he has the 6th (I think) most strikeouts in Cubs' history and he's only 28 is scary. But, injuries have killed him and like many good pitchers, limit him from ever achieving his full potential. We're better off!

Ugh, here's what it said on Gameday:

Pitch 1 - Swinging Strike

Pitch 2 - Swinging Strike

Pitch 3 - Swinging Strike

 

Rickie Weeks strikes out swinging.

 

Not good that all three balls were out of the zone.
