Bagwell tags and go to second...Schroeder and Sutton insist that it was a non-chalant throw by Podsednik...but it didn't look like that to me...it looked like Eric Young just couldn't handle the throw? Are they watching the same tape?

2 run dinger...god i hate enron. Excuse me, Minute maid park.

Royce Clayton. Thank god we have that glove in the middle of our...oh wait, error...damn. Well at least he has good power numbers? Oh wait...I was reading the wrong column.

You know what else is great? Eric Young's veteran leadership. Sure, he drops that routine throw to second and lets the runner go to third, but I am glad we have him starting everyday to provide some stability.

Bitter mode. It arrives, much later in the season this time around, waiting until July. Yay for such things.

I second that about Clayton. Reading that bull**** propeganda(sp) from milwaukeebrewer.com I thought he was actually a decent pickup. The guy can't hit and is no better than average at SS. BTW, is Helms hurt or just getting a day off?

EDIT: We don't swear here... -squarepusher

You know what, kiddos? Vizco is back.

This guy has amazing stuff. That slider is unhittable.

We're going to be darned happy that Melvin (and Yost) had patience with him.

Kudos, Luis!

So EY, remember when I was talking about your veteran leadership in an earlier post? Well, I really meant it. I look at it now and I can see how someone would see it as being sarcastic, but no, I meant it. Great job with that two out single tonight and couple SBs, and hey, heckuva job yesterday on that game-tying HR.

Heh. Good win, in any event.

A win is a win... ugly game though. Sucks to be a starting pitcher for teh brewers these days.... Either get the lose or a no decision.

Where was Dejean tonight???? 4 innings in 3 days too much for him? O sorry, more like 3 technically

Lost in all of this is another quality start by Franklin and a great job by the bullpen.
"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

keeps the guys cheaper whenever they become arby eledgable...(no wins for starters that is)

Im just glad the Crew won...and Jose Viz is back?

I never got to see him pitch last year when he was "dynamic"....I saw him pitch a solid inning during the Cubs series...I hope he is indeed back...Id love to a success story in the pen

Big night by EY means his value keeps going up up up

EY was however, hideous in the field again tonight. Being a radio guy with the exception of about ten TV games a year, I may be at a disadvantage. But Bob and Jim are very specific in their descriptions, and I have little doubt that EY is the worst fielding starting 2B in baseball today.

I said that a month ago and got no debate MB. He hits enough to make someone overlook that, however, as he's an FA after this season.

Just to quelch any possible debate:

EY's 2003 fielding stats out of the 12 NL second baseman that qualify:

Errors: 10, 12th

Fielding %: .964, 12th

Range Factor: 4.60, 11th of 12

Zone Rating: .792, 8th of 12

You really can't make a case for EY being better in the field than any other second baseman in the NL. Perhaps the presence of Todd Walker in BOS and Luis Rivas in MIN keep him from being the worst in all of baseball.

Okay, but let's look at other stats, shall we?

OPS: .774

HR: 10 - tied for second

SB: 19 - leading

The offense is making up for his defensive shortcomings, IMHO.
