Unfortunately, this is the type of lineup you have to deal with when you have the lowest payroll in the Major Leagues. It really sucks, but until we start spending money or bringing up our prospects, this is the card we are dealt.

True, but you also have to take into account that there are 4 starters missing, plus Ginter, and Grieve has been hurting. Certainly the Brewers lack depth, but there are a lot of teams that would suffer greatly missing that many regulars.

1 2 3 I hope whomever said you have to get on first to steal is not right since that is obvious! Shake it up and see what happens. So far one ground out and two K's

Brewers up 1-0!

Durrington gets on and runs on Counsell's ground out to second taking them out of a double play.

Clark the #4 hitter loops one into left for an RBI single.

Clark steals second on the first pitch!

Way to go Ned!

Bako homer's bottom 5 to tie it.

Thought this was humorous, from the notes today:

With Jenkins and Overbay unavailable and Russell Branyan on a strikeout rampage, the snip around Wrigley Field on Wednesday was that if Wes Helms can't crack this lineup, he may never play again.

hahahahahaha

Sharpie's so solid.

1R, 4K thru 5...

edit: Here's a fun stat:

Pitchcount thru 5:

Davis: 82

Maddux: 55

So Doug definitely won't get more than 7 in, if that.

BTW: Philly just got swept by Houston, after sweeping Milwaukee, after they lost 7 games in a row before that.

Think Philly is looking forward to facing Milwaukee again?

DD thru 7: 1R 6H 5K 96pitches.

Really economical those last 2 innings, but looks like Viz-dog will get the 8th. Another great outing for Mr. Sharpie.

There's a start Chad!

edit: DD bats, bunts into DP. wonderful.

Why was Davis batting for himself in the bottom of the 7th if he wasn't going to come back out to pitch??? Maybe I am missing something here... Please help me if anyone has an explination!!!

I've continued to wonder if there's a reason we held onto Viz after 2003.

Part of me, though, is just so grateful for Sharpie giving us as much of a chance as we had. Compared to the last two night(mare)s, if the final is "only" 2-1, I'll be almost content.

How sad is that?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
