7/27/2004: Brewers (Sheets) v. Cubs (Maddux)

You guys gotta give Russell a break. He's going to strike out half of the time, but he's also going to hit a lot of home runs. We've seen enough groundball outs from Helms and Jenkins to last about 200 years, so at this point who cares if the Muscle strikes out a lot? Just expect him to strikeout, and you won't be disappointed.

I'm a sucker for Three True Outcomes players. If you accept the strikeouts, they are a lot of fun to watch.

16 GiDP for Jenkins. I never thought I'd say this, but couldn't Geoff just strike out with men on 1st or 1st and 2nd?

Man, Sheets is getting absolutely clobbered.

If Daron Sutton says one more thing about carreer stats for Greg Maddux I am going to throw my remote at the Television.

Daron Sutton? Silence? At any time?

Good luck.

I've already given up on watching the game. Between seeing all of the Cub fans and listening to Sutton fawn over Maddux's accomplishments, I've had enough for tonight. Over to radio for me.

Are Sutton and Schroeder calling the game for FSN North or FSN Chicago? If I were an uninformed observer watching my first game, I would say the latter, considering all they have done is drooled over Greg Maddux and the Cubs so far.

By the way, did I tell you guys Greg Maddux is on the verge of winning 300 games and is a HOF pitcher?

Seriously Daron. Shut up.

Has to be a drag for Ben when after the first inning and 2 runs given up,he's knows he's probably looking at an L.Then he's forced to be perfect the rest of of the way,3-4 runs is nearly an impossibility for this sad offense.

Montreal is healthy now,it's not likely we catch them for the worst offense in baseball, but we have 2 months left.

I don't think I could possibly care less about what Paul Bako has to say about how great Greg Maddux is. He's not a compelling speaker, he has nothing interesting to say, and yet an interview with him has been aired about 47 times so far tonight. Bob Brainerd has fauned over how wonderful Maddux is, too, meaning more than 1/3 of the broadcast has consisted of people other than Daron and Bill talking about how great Maddux is. The other 2/3 has consisted of Daron and Bill talking about how great Maddux is.

I hate them. I really do.

.I hate them. I really do.

How about interviewing OUR coaches and players and asking them why they continue to hit like absolute crap and refuse to make any changes, rather than interviewing all these players from other teams about there star players?

I know I would have a few choice, pointed questions for our coaches.

Geez, this is really getting irritating! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

It seems everyone ignored my Pirates thread. So be it.

This team couldn't hit their way out of a paperbag right now. Geoff Jenkins needs to be benched or batting lower in the order. He is just plain underachieving. I was amazed to see Branyan hitting cleanup. Too bad he struck out with RISP. sigh.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif

Looks like Ben was overthrowing and it has led to some long balls for the Cubs. I think he is just as frustrated as we are with the p#@%poor offense his team has.

Maybe the Crew will get a run or two tonight, but I am not holding my breath with great pitcher on the mound. Oh, did I mention Greg Maddux has 298 wins? Thanks Daron for that tidbit of intellect.

Now why can't I express how I really feel with a Emoticon of someone crying?

I cant stand Daron and Bill either, but what else is there to talk about? How futile our lineup is?Get excited by an occasional walk or base hit that will just end up being stranded?

The fawning is excessive, but hard for me to get bothered by.This team is painfully boring to watch, there isn't much to say about the Brewers or to get excited about. They could mention we have a AAA offense, but we see that for ourselves every game.

Johan Santana is throwing a one-hit shutout for the Twinkies, so my fantasy team is getting a boost tonight. So not all is bad, I guess. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Russell Branyon is half-way there to Helms HR total for the season.

Boy, that was fast.
