Well done, Sharpie. Extra fine!

What would you rather have, if you could only have one: sweep the Pirates, or sweep the Cubs? I'm content.

(For now.)

Great win.

I too thought sending Davis back out in the eighth was curious. They could have used the opportunity to work the bullpen, and Davis had thrown plenty of pitches. I'm guessing here, but Davis seems like the kind of guy who Yost would let throw a higher amount of pitches, as compared to say, Ben Sheets.

Counsell has been the man lately. Definitely underappreciated.

Pods still struggling - needs to go the opposite way more.

Grieve continues his stellar play. I'd rather get a catcher who can hit over .200 to replace Bennett than replace Grieve in RF. Davis has a better approach than Bennet at the plate.

Pitching has been amazing. Mike Adams looked wicked.

Good to see Bill Hall pumped up after the game. Too bad Brady Clark always gets pinch hit opportunities over him.

Hopefully the momentum carries over into the Reds series.

Wow, this is FUN!

SWEEP!

I wish we had better pitching. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

How sweep it is!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Re Al Leiter, I don't think he has enough innings, or MLB.com would have him as the ERA leader. Which they don't. So until the official word comes down, I declare Sheets the ERA leader of the free world.

Even the Brewers bean counters must be happy. Total attendance for the series is 129,606. (45016 + 42295 + 42291) That's a ka-ching series to boot.

I still can't believe we are pitching this way.Even with Obie stinking up the joint,we are 5th in baseball ERA.It has been so long since we had a good pitching staff,i kept waiting for the collapse to start.

I'm sold, these guys are good. What a pleasure to watch, now if we could just get some power out of the lineup.

he he he... I think the Cubs were the team in front of us for the wild card; this puts us one game out of the wild card

I sure dont expect us to even get close to a playoff spot - even now. But if it makes Dougie do a trade that will help us out this year and next (I quote Dougie and me!), then that is great. I am tired of doing little. I want us to appear to manage our roster. Without any Wendy input.

awsome sweep...awsome awsome job http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

these wins were BIG for the Brewers confidence and maybe...just maybe...Geoff Jenkins saw the ball tonight which can only be a good thing

It appears that the 40oz Schlitz malt liquor is once again bringing gangsta-ass success to the Brewers. This practice may turn me into an alcoholic, but I will do it during every big game.

Mothership has a splendid funkalicious idea!

Let's all tip one to the boys who make beer and swear to the baseball gods that we will push that sweet domestic product in trade for at least a wildcard birth and a Corey Hart call-up.

Yost had already said that with the All-Star break coming, he would stretch Davis out since he would have a week to recover.

Hey Batman! So where's the link to the game thread on the Cubs fan boards for this one? That was great fun!

Ask and ye shall receive... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Only 27 pages tonight... not as enjoyable as last night's, but still worth the read.

There's also a thread on their "regular" board (not the game thread one) titled "Brewers to the world series!!!!!"...

Not that interesting, but kinda funny.

Enjoy!

This picture was taken by someone on another forum I read during yesterday's game. Looked pretty cool, so I thought I'd post it here too.
