Doug giveth and he taketh away. Now that Braun is no longer a name to follow, Doug gives us Jeffress. He must have made some progress with his secondary pitches to warrant this. I also wonder if this is just temporary and he ends up at Helena, anyways.

although Garrison was promoted to WV temporarily last year, and it sure has worked out for him

Shoulder tendenitis? I've been around sports since I could walk, and I've never heard of it. Elbows and wrists sure...

Not to take this topic off thread, but you can have tendonitis wherever you have tendons -- and that is all joints. Now shoulder tendonitis usually is named after the most common tendons in the joint (rotator cuff), so it's aka rotator cuff tendonitis.

Call me a skeptic but shoulder tendonitis in baseball sounds like a knee sprain in football.

tendonitis, be it shoulder or elbow, is probably the msot common ailment in baseball...i doubt there's a player in professional baseball that doesn't experience some pain from tendinitis

Pogo I don't disagree with your opinion that it's common, it's just that I keep thinking about everyone that's been diagnosed with shoulder tendonitis that I know. Eventually, in every single case it was something much worse. My dad, my brother, and bunch of high school kids that have played for me over the years. If it's chronic, it's not tendonitis. The joints don't continually swell without a cause.

At any rate, I'm hoping for the best, but I'm still skeptical... I might cease to be a skeptic if Jones actually pitches by 6/6/2007, otherwise he's been more than a month with a "strain".

edit. To clarify, I mean that Jones is supposedly out with a minor injury as well, and it's been 3 weeks.

Final: Brevard County 5, Sarasota (Reds) 2, completion of Thursday's suspended game

Brevard County Box Score:

We discussed the early goings-on yesterday; UCLA's Dave Johnson with a nice effort for the save, including stranding two of Josh Wahpepah's baserunners...

Inman just struck out the side in the 5th and 6th innings, giving him 12 for the game so far. His line right now is 6 IP 3 H 1 ER 1 BB 12 K's. The run was a leadoff home run in the 1st inning, so he's been basically unhittable since then.

Will Inman is superhuman.

After six innings (his night now over), check out how he retired the final seven batters he faced:

Sarasota Top 4th

- Eric Eymann strikes out swinging.

Sarasota Top 5th

- Raul Tablado strikes out swinging.

- BJ Szymanski strikes out swinging.

- Michael Griffin strikes out swinging.

Sarasota Top 6th

- Michael DeJesus strikes out swinging.

- Jay Bruce strikes out swinging.

- Adam Rosales strikes out swinging.

After surrendering a home run to the very first batter of the game, here's Will's final line:

6 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 12 K, just the one run allowed

Alas, he won't get the win -- J.R. Hopf did just hit a two-out RBI single, however, game tied at 1-1 after six innings -- remember, this is a seven-inning game.

Is he really your brother?

I think Inman is my favorite prospect. Even ahead of Yo. Geez he's amazing.

What Is the E-mail Address for the New Announcers at space coast stadium?

Working on that for you...

By the way, Doug Melvin at Brevard tonight, I believe -- he's had quite the world tour lately, the boys at each level have not disappointed.
