I don't think I've ever started an in-game thread...maybe something improbable will happen today. Estrada walks and steals second? Edited by SoCalBrewfan

Here's to hoping the Brewers knock the yellow and crooked teeth out of Gorzelanny's ugly mug tonight. Don't suck, Suppan (hey, it's worked his past couple starts)!

I'm bringing my secret weapon to the game today, my wife. She seems to have some baseball luck on her side. She doesn't go often but this year she was at the Yankees game early in the year when Arod hit the walk off grand slam, and then followed it up in Baltimore a few days later with another game with a grand slam. Last year the only game she went to was Turnbow bobble head night, when she got an alternate jersey bobble, and the Crew came storming back in the 8th, only to have the game blown by Turnbow. I'm not pegging that one on her though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Since it's a day game after a nite game, i don't thing Johnny will be playing today.

with vinny up we can do anything we want with our catchers...as far as estrada stealing second base ? it won't happen in my lifetime. is it me or has johnny been hitting better of late with his arm tats exposed ?

Estrada could get a stolen base on one of those hit and run pitches thrown in the dirt that is blocked by the catcher and rolls away. Since he was running, it wouldn't be a wild pitch.

Not that we would Hit and run with Estrada on base, but still, stranger things have happened.

I like the pitching matchups for the Reds, Brewers, and Astros today. This could be huge, as it would put the Crew 0.5 back, the Cards 2 back.

Then Monday-Wednesday we go against the Astros with Sheets, Villanueva, and Gallardo throwing (should win 2 of 3).

The Cardinals host the Pirates for 4 (have to figure a 2-2 split, or a 3-1 Cards victory). Then they move on to AZ where they should lose 2 of 3 (Webb throws)

Finally, the Cubs face the Dodgers for 4 then the Pirates. Really, this top 3 in the division could all be in a different order by Friday

I probably would've flipped Hall and Miller, but I'm guessing Yost doesn't want to mess with the success Hall had there last night.

The new cure-all for struggling hitters: bat them 8th!

I fear what Gorzelanny will be able to do with the shadows creeping in all afternoon. Hopefully the Brewers can get to him early.
