MLBtraderumors. com reports that they are looking into acquiring Jack Wilson and Matt Morris from the Pirates. Let's hope they can find a way to get that one done.

Ahh guys, Wilson is a clear upgrade over Eckstein. He's had some lesser years with the bat, but is coming off a pretty good one: .296/.350/.440 and he's always been solid defensively.

Actually, IIRC, Wilson was a Cardinals prospect who was dealt for a reliever a few years back. Don't think he made it to the bigs with the Cards, but was probably AA or AAA.

Pirates would be unloding some serious cash and getting young arms. You have to like it from their point of view.

 

The Cards are still in win now mode, which I really don't think they have a realistic chance with Carpenter missing half of '08. Especially if they deal Rolen, as rumored.

I was going to say the same thing as Briggs. As muic as I personally rip the guy, Wilson had a real nice season last year, he's miles (and not Aaron Miles - hack joke) better than Eckstein.
