John Buck an option?

With KC signing Miguel Olivo, could John Buck be available?

My guess is that they're going with a Buck/Olivo duo.

I'm not sure he'd be available, but he'd at least be interesting if he is. He had his best year last year (.222/.308/.429) despite his BABIP being .040 points below his career average. He could theoretically put up a .250/.340/.430 line if he keeps up the spike in BBs, and he's only 27. However, I don't think he'd be worth giving up anything of value because he'd basically be a standard league average type guy, and we already have Kendall. That being said, if he plays solid defense and can be acquired cheaply, I could think of worse options to handle the catching through 2010. I just don't think he'll be available because his career line is better than Olivo's.

He led their team in HR's last year... I don't think we're getting him "cheaply". Though, I would love to get Alex Gordon...CHEAPLY!

the only way anyone is getting alex gordon cheaply is if he is in a devastating car accident.

 

Buck could DH for KC, too.
