While much of the piece deals with the usual suspects (the Dodgers), there are some intriguing ideas here. One that stuck out to me was the Blue Jays, who are currently determining what to do with struggling starter Alek Manoah. While a straight Manoah-for-Burnes feels like insanity, if the Blue Jays are particularly down on the big righty, they might be willing to juice the offer with him.

Of course, all of this depends on how the Brewers view Manoah internally. The 25-year-old was extraordinary in 2021 and 2022, posting a 2.60 ERA. Inversely, 2023 was equally disastrous as he posted a 5.87 ERA.

Nah forget Manoah, start the return with Ricky Tiedemann, LH stud starter +.

I like the Tiedemann idea, and was also intrigued by the inclusion of the Phillies and Giants. There aren't many top prospects who are pitchers. The Phillies have Painter, and the Giants have Harrison. Painter is recovering from TJ, so he may not be an option if they're looking to compete this year, but he and Harrison are both MLB ready and are potential top-of-the-rotation arms with team control. If Painter isn't a fit, the Phils also have Mick Abel.

Not sure if either of these teams would give up the young pitchers for one year or Burnes, or if Milwaukee would prefer to get a package of players rather than a one-for-one deal, but I would like to see a high-end arm coming back for Burnes.

Emmet Sheehan has to be your SP return. Younger with already a higher innings pitch limitation to be a SP. Pepiot is at that crossroad of jumping in to BP/SP BP future because age and the innings limitations.  By the time he's ready to throw 170+ he'll have 1 yr of control remaining and be sent off in a trade.  Dodgers would be trading for the 180s-190s Burnes could pitch in 2024 vs the 140s-170s limitations Sheehan will have for 2 seasons while getting dibs to extend Burnes.

Sheehan or bust. This return is terrible because both Busch and Pepiot are on the older side. Plus Busch can’t defend and has shown some worrying signs with the bat in his brief MLB experience. Hard to see the Brewers having much interest in him given what transpired with Hiura.

I am kind of thinking Boston might be gearing up for a Burnes deal. I have read alot about them wanting a top of the rotation starter. Boston doesn't have great young starters but plenty of good talent. I'd probably do Burnes for Marcelo Mayer straight up or a package around Rafeala who is best in CF but would be a good 2B. There top 20 or so prospect are solid. Roman Anthony would be solid as well if we moved a bunch of OF guys (unlikey).

Rafeala,  Blaze Jordan/Yorke, Garrett Whitlock, and a lotto type piece would be ok with me.

I think my most likely list would be 1)Dodgers 2)Mets 3)Giants 4)O's 5) Red Sox

They need to get at Least one legit Starter

If I was convinced that Miso was a relief pitcher I would. 

it's about where they are within development and mlb placement.  I seen Ryan Pepiot as a proposed headliner. Guy hasn't thrown 120+ IP in a season and already service time.  Perfect example for Dodgers to part with since at best without injury, he's 2 years further along in team control before one even pegs them for a 170IP season.  Burnes has 200+ in 2024 to manage.  Misiorowski has time with 0 service time to be added to your MLB team in late 2025 and be approaching 130+ innings for 2026 to start.  So no I wouldn't want his ceiling with control used on Burnes.

The same can be said on Sheehan only theres more control-  higher IP limitations moving forward.  6th rd pick- hes the ideal target for Milw. And considering LA would net the comp-pick(though is that a 1st for them or later?)  And draft another Sheehan version that they do consistently with their picks.  The difference is 60+ innings known high quality starts from Corbin vs dealing with the management of Sheehan throughout the season and adding a SP at deadline anyway because he may be gassed/atop his limits when playoffs come around.

At first when I contemplated this, I thought "no way," but the development risk, even a guy like Painter or Tiedemann, is really really high. I think if I was a big-budget club I probably would think it was worth it due to the surety of value in that one season of Burnes, simply because you can compete for the best free agents, which can replace the value that prospects can provide (in terms of team control).

Hector Gomez reporting Juan Soto to the Blue Jays is intensifying, whether or not hes reputable I feel like we can do another blockbuster 3 team trade.

its been reported that Padres have interest in Burnes. Obviously other pieces would be involved too.

Not solely based on positional player(s), but I'd be ok with a positional player being 1 of the headliners in return. The Crew have a few very promising starters in the system. I'd be fine with Sheehan & Busch, plus a lottery ticket or 2 as the return. Or Coby Mayo being 1 of the headliners if the Orioles traded for Burnes & Adames. 🤷‍♂️

Cade Horton of the Cubs would be a wonderful addition. Play him at third on his off days. The Winter Meetings would be the time to move Burnes or gauge his trade value. Do not keep him until the July Trade deadline. Move him this winter. He is a really good pitcher but has never won more than 12 games in a season. Always pitches alot of innings but is he a big game pitcher? If Woodruff was healthy in last years playoffs I would have led off with him and not Burnes. Once again really good but not great. Really good is really good and you can never have too many really good pitchers. 

I like the idea of a 3 team with SD in a Soto deal, Tiedman would be a great get.

Zero interest in helping the Cubs get Soto.

I'm taking this off MLB with an article explaining the players who declined the QO. In it, it wrote about what the players and then the QO reward for the teams and those players. Skipping all that the bottom tells you this explanation and it's something that I've mentioned affects Burnes value to different teams.  It's long so bear the read and I'll reply after to it.
