It is fitting we begin 2026's Brewers Alumni news with another OF Joey Wiemer transaction. His MLB organizational merry-go-round continues (his 5th org since July 29th, 2024):

INF Christian Arroyo signs a new Minor League deal with the Mets:

Meanwhile, after last season's cup of coffee with the Nationals C Jorge Alfaro seeks a new opportunity within the Royals organization.

The Sounds do not play Omaha in 2026 so we likely will not see him vs the Sounds unless he heads elsewhere within the International League.

A part of the Brewers org for three beautiful 2024 off-season weeks late November to mid-December, RHP Jon Duplantier turns a fantastic season overseas into a $3 Million deal:

The final two paragraphs here provide an update on RHP Dylan File, who touched every level of the Crew’s minor league system in his journey, as his linked B-Ref page will show.

Happy for the 2019 Rocky Mountain Vibes RHP - maintains his 40-man spot for now and a great organization for opportunity - plus he should have received a nice playoff share from the Jays

Wow. From outside the top 30 here to #5.  Yeah our depth is good, really good, and the Padres depth is um …. Not so great.  Yikes

My thoughts as I looked through the Padres system:

They must be really high on him. I know the system isn’t deep, but what about … oh man those pitching lines are ugly. What about … wait, does that OPS start with a 5? Didn’t they have a hyped Latin American signing … oh wow, that put Antunez and Fenelon’s seasons in perspective. Surely their draft wasn’t only … forgot they didn’t have a second rounder. Well, I guess they like him more than the one reliever.

He would have been ranked in the Brewers Top 30 if he was still in the system just nowhere near 5th. Dorchies is ranked 15th by BA at 40 adjusted overall. Dubanewicz is ranked 26th by BA at 30 adjusted overall. Quintana is 35 adjusted overall, so in our system he would have been ranked somewhere from 16 to 26.

Agree. I was higher on Quintana and still believe he was a massive overpay to get a 5th OF.

Still I would say in our system he would have wound around 20 - on par with Bitonti and several pitchers. But still even if we think he was 18th ahead of Wilken, that is some jump. San Diego has a solid top 3 and then it seems to be more question marks. Ours is a solid top 10, but next level is 11-19 who can all be interchangeable, and then it is more like #20-40 who would make most organization's top 30 lists.

And with RHP Nick Mears no longer a Brewer, we see one of the former Brewers involved in the original acquisition has been DFA'd:

The Rockies announced Thursday that right-hander Bradley Blalock has been designated for assignment. His spot on the 40-man roster goes to newly signed righty Michael Lorenzen, whose previously reported one-year contract (with a 2027 club option) is now official.

Nice signing for SF. Had Oliva not gotten injured in the first half he was trending toward a call-up. Does a lot of good things on the baseball diamond and has the speed to cover quite a bit of OF ground and cause havoc on the base paths (57-of-63 SB success rate). His 11 long balls were also a career high while only striking out 20% of the time in 398 PA's. A meaningful AAAA vet depth signing for the Giants.

Sent out on 5 2/3 innings of rehab work while on the 40-Man back in 2022, we're going to tip our cap to former Brewers reliever RHP Trevor Gott.

(He touched dirt on the T-Rats and Sounds mound!😅)
