Warren primarily played on the left-side of the infield at Central Michigan, but was viewed as a catcher upon being drafted by the Brewers in the 3rd round in 2020. While he’s caught 20 games as a professional, he played very few games at catcher down the stretch of the 2021 season and as of early June still hadn’t served as a backstop at all to begin the 2022 season. Third base has been Warren’s most common position played to this point of his professional career.

Warren’s potential with the bat stands out most. The switch-hitter has a balanced swing and solid contact ability. He has good strike zone recognition and an ability to get on base. He does make hard contact, but hasn’t consistently tapped into his power potential.

Assuming Warren’s catching days are behind him it’ll raise the bar necessary for his offensive game. His most likely outcome is as a switch-hitting corner infield bench bat. He’ll likely need to tap into additional power in order to make that a viable profile at the major league level.
