    To be honest, in about 90 days the free gold membership offer given to EZBoards that run Google ads is about to expire. Given that our price per 6 months of usage is directly related to hits, i'm not interested in adding to it at this point. Since the election is over in November, I didn't mind creating a special forum for election talk. FANTASY SPORTS ARE THE DEVIL.

Also, let's keep this round squeaky clean. Please do not create fake accounts to vote twice (as happened with our competition in the last round), and try to keep comments to constructive criticism and no bashing! If Brewerfan.net is to win this tourney, I want there to be no doubt about it.

So after he lied multiple times about creating multiple accounts, accused Brewerfan.net users of rigging the vote by "framing" DodgerBlues.com, and only came clean after he was busted with evidence by the FSZ admins, he came clean. Yes. That is the epitome of classy. Has the level of intelligence in SoCal really been depleted so that the logic in that quote makes sense?

    Now the guy admits to creating multiple accounts.... this after he blames our users of creating multiple accounts to get their site disqualified. Man.... we didn't get this kind of behavior out of the ESPN message board trolls at the height of the troll-dom that initially had us come here.

    Meh... if he wants to take the time or whatever to set up an account just to get banned, that's fine. If he's got a dynamic IP or something through AOL, i'd rather just ban him if he comes around then block out a chunk of AOL addresses that might be allocated to someone else here. Plus, i'm lazy.

    Ah well, even if they somehow manage to tamper with the next poll, Brewerfan is the only remaining baseball site in the tourney, so we've been voted in as the best baseball fan site on the web (at least by this poll). I would have liked the poll better if honestly there was a way to exclude all Dodgers and Brewers fans votes. They're currently in conspiracy theory mode, so they're just acting out of frustration at this point. Ah well.

Don't get involved by joining in the threads please, though. It's much more entertaining just to watch them make themselves look silly.

    We've been given the clearance to provide to the "final four" in the tournament as DodgerBlues.com is disqualified. Cheaters never win.

    Well, if the admins determined they indeed cheated and think Brewerfan should continue on in the tournament, i'll go ahead and keep the site in the running. It'd be a disservice to our fans and the other sites Brewerfan defeated in the tournament if we withdrew under those circumstances.

    Yeah, I thought that was pretty cute. I got private messages from other DodgerBlues.com fans apologizing for the behavior of some of the other people. Their message boards are the exact opposite of what we try and do here. Nothing but trash talking, racism, and homophobia over there. If that's the kind of site that is going to move on in this tournament, I didn't want to be a part of it. EDIT: Turns out 6 of the votes were turned in from 2 IP addresses with fake accounts being created. So much for the call to cheat being a "joke".

    Apparently, at the DodgerBlues.com message board, the guy said it was just a joke. Whatever the case may be, i've never met such a bunch of disrespectful people in my life. I'm sure there are many decent users of that site, but the ones who were vocal were complete jerks.

    It's too bad.... there were some decent non-baseball sites that are going to make it to the "final four" that I would have liked to see Brewerfan "stack up" against. Ah well... Just more motivation for me to keep adding features and everyone else to keep contributing to what's really become a fun thing.

    I'm officially withdrawing the site from the competition. The other sysadmin is urging people to create fake yahoo accounts and vote. Whatever. We're here to serve you guys, not to win a popularity contest. Thanks to all of you who supported us by voting, and thanks to the 1200+ of you who are users here.

    I only say Sons of Sam Horn because the sheer large number of people, and for the most part knowledgable people that post. From a non-forum point of view, we give you the most content on the net as far as fan-sites go. I feel like our forum is definately the best bang for the buck as well... It's just that I can respect SOSH, Jamey's site, and a few others because they're not dominated by trash talk or propaganda. *shrug* Regardless, i'm positively thrilled with what we've built here, and a popularity contest doesn't do anything but bring us some marginal national attention. Except for the draft coverage, I don't care about pandering to a national audience, as they'll just look down on the site because it's Brewers-related.
