    To be honest, Ben Sheets's back problems scare me quite a bit. They've never grounded him for a serious length of time, but it just seems like the chronic kind of problem that would make a pricy 5 year deal sounds like a bad idea. I like Sheets a lot, but unless he can continue on the pace he's started at this year, it may be time to think about trading him, depending on how the arms in the minors shake out.

    My Beloit Report: - it was bone-chilling cold. - Montalbo looked pretty good, and flashed the leather on the mound as well. - Lou Palmisano is the real deal. He threw someone out stealing as well, and it looked like he had a decent arm. - it was very cold. - Gilberto Acosta looked really good at shortstop, and Guilder looked awfully comfortable at 2B as well.

    Wow, look at that line by Liriano. He's probably a dark horse candidate to be called up too, given his 40-man status and his minor prospect label. Hopefully he can put a few more good starts together and start opening some options.

    As one of the first "Brewerfan babies", I gotta say i'm proud as heck of Ben Hendrickson. It was about when Ben was in Helena, that I _really_ got into minor league baseball. To me, it's going to be much more gratifying when the players i've been following all these years break through to the majors. It looks like Ben could very well be one of the first, if he keeps this up. Congrats on the seamless transition to AAA!

    Well, less than a week to go! So far, it looks like we're having a relatively decent turn out, but i'd like to see some more people come out... especially some new faces (and there are many of ya!) Just some reminders: - The Milwaukee game is more of a freeform bring your own food and drinks thing before tailgating. Bringing your own grill is encouraged, although usually there are enough grills to go around (so don't feel that you need to buy one or anything). While i'd like to know in advance who's all coming, if you'd like to make this a last minute thing to do if you've got nothing else to do on Saturday, that's great as well. - The Beloit game is catered, and therefore costs something up front ($13.25 per person). That DOES include a ticket, beer soda and food (an hour and a half before the game, all you can handle), and a discount on Snappers merchandise from the pro shop. For this one, I need to know ahead of time if you're coming (since I have to pass the info on to the Snappers front office), but you can feel free to pay me Sunday if that makes it easier on ya. Looking forward to seeing you all! We'll post some more meeting details in this thread as the weekend draws closer.
