  1. [ I ask this question seriously. Brian or someone please let me know if it could be done. I'm not asking to stir up trouble, I'm asking because I want to know if we could get one. ] Which of the 5 logos would you want with a circle around and through it? I'm sure Patrick could crank something out, but I don't want to ask him to do all of them or take the time to put them all online (you know, since it's an affront to the greatest player on the 25-man roster).
  2. Your Milwaukee Brewers open up a series with last year's NL Champion St. Louis Cardinals. The Crew holds sole posession of 1st place in the NL Central, and now the real test begins. The Cards hit Ben Sheets the second best out of any team last year, posting a .286 batting average against him. Ben went 1-3 against them last year with a 3.70 ERA. Jeff Suppan has been dubbed "The Road Warrior" for his efforts, as least year he posted a 3.55 ERA on the road, while posting a 4.75 ERA at home. So, it only makes sense that the Brewers were able to get to him last year in St. Louis, but he pitched a 7.2 inning 3 hit gem against the Brewers in Miller Park last year. 3. [ Any reason Capuano only went 5 innings? ] Listening to the game, it didn't sounds like his pitches were doing what he wanted them to. If you walk the pitcher twice, it's not your day.

  5. always nice to take the rubber match of the series.
  6. Just release Helms and purchase Scarborough's contract.
  7. Do what I do, completely write off Mike Jones, then any positive news is a surprise. Seriously though, best of luck to Jones on the surgery... hopefully we'll see him in S/T next year.
  8. Did I mention that I love Geoff Jenkins?
  9. I think we're beating a dead caballo here.
  10. The Hurricane would have been all over these double plays.
  11. Where did that Spring Training Chris Capuano go? A walkk to Fogg?
  12. [ Seriously, let's move in the fences. ] Yeah, that can only help get Sheets signed to a contract extension. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

  14. I'm trying to avoid gambling banners and ads if I can, at least for the time being.
  15. [ That would have been from a Russ Branyan family member; she's already received her shirt. That's fast service! ] Uhh.... is there something you're not telling us?
  16. Your Milwaukee Brewers look to take the rubber match from the Pirates today, as Chris Capuano locks up with Josh Fogg. Capuano struck out 7 in his first outing, but walked 3 and allowed 5 hits against the Cubs. He's been shelled by Pittsburgh in the past, sporting a 11.70 ERA in two starts. Fogg's a soft-tosser, but has had success against Milwaukee, going 5-2 with a 3.39 ERA. He was also successful in his first start this year, giving up only 1 run on 4 hits over 6.1 innings pitched..... of course, that was before he needed to face _the muscle_. 17. Well, I suppose 6 IP, 3 ER is close to the 7 IP 2 ER I predicted, but i'm walking away disappointed. He showed flashes of promise tonight with the slider.... If he could just work on location a little bit more, he'd be a really good #5 or a decent #4.
  18. I'd rather not, actually. We did a spoof of the MLB logo a couple of years ago that got us into trouble.

  20. If I weren't so skittish about copyright infringment, i'd love to get a "BOTTALICA" shirt, in the Metallica font.
  21. [ Is this quote from Real Genius, starring Val Kilmer and some real ugly kid? ] It's actually from the Simpsons. But Real Genius is one of my all-time favorites.
  22. Well, not somms, but his cousin, "battlebot".
  23. With the increased traffic, we're starting to run into problems with the chat room's capacity. Unfortunately, EZBoard doesn't provide a way to up the # of users in a chat room, so we're going to have to go an alternate route. I'm proposing a switch to IRC (Internet Relay Chat). the drawback: IRC does not use the regular web port (port 80), so if you're going to try to chat from work or some location where you're firewalled, you may have issues. IRC normally runs on port 6667 I believe. the positives: The server(s) that host(s) the chat are freely available, widely used, and can handle massive amounts of traffic. IRC is also really just a protocol, meaning you can use any IRC program you want (Trillian, ViRC, etc) to connect. This will also allow me to set up a "bot" to be able to do all kinds of nifty stuff like moderate, run trivia games, fetch stats for conversational purposes, etc, etc. For those who have no idea what I was just talking about, the format of the chat room will change, and you will click on a different link which will launch a different chat app-let.
  24. Why the heck would Overbay sit against LHP? He actually hit lefties better than righties last year. Stats are only a couple of mouseclicks away on the inter-web!
