  1. It's only a matter of time before the Brewers lock onto that fastball.
  2. Here we go, tendinitis, here we go. *clap, clap*
  3. [ fyi, i edited the post to keep it more appropriate ] No sweat, very much appreciated.
  4. [ almost time!!! i cant wait, should be a great matchup. As for starting Helms... when they pinch hit him yesterday i said (and i quote) "oh sh*t, wes helms..." ] Please abide by the message board FAQ regarding avoiding the cuss filter: p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...=576.topic Thank you.
  5. Your Milwaukee Brewers are riding high after starting the season 3 and 0 with an amazing come from behind victory! The Crew has sole rights to 1st place in the NL Central with a Cincinnati loss yesterday. The marquee matchup series features Ben Sheets going for his second straight victory going up against Carlos Zambrano who had a less-than-stellar first outing. Last year the Cubs got to Sheets, and hit him for 3 losses and an ERA of 4.50. The Brewers have had limited success against Zambrano last year, with 2 wins, 2 losses, and an ERA against the Crew of 3.08. Go Crew! 6. Yeah fellas, I know things slip sometimes, but i'm really going to have to start cracking down on repeat offenders. Yeah, we may be prudes or whatever, but we know how a successful fan forum is created... so please, out of respect for the site and the staff, no cussing.... no asterisks to avoid cussing... no abbreviations for cussing. I'm not going to start handing out bannings or anything, but please, don't make me waste time by having to email people privately. thanks in advance.
  7. [ Is "Metro" one of the sections whose content varies depending on whether you're in Milwaukeeland? (i.e. is it worthwhile to buy a copy distributed in Madison because our first game isn't until Tuesday?) ] I'll find out....
  8. Apparently, the story's supposed to be blessed with a photo of yours truly, so it'll be a collector's item for the ages. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  9. [ More later, if I have a chance. ] Do you need us to pick you up some more "eye of newt" for your cauldron?
  10. [ You mean Monday, 4/11 ] Man, this has been a rough week for me, typo-wise.
  11. Make sure you grab a copy of the Journal/Sentinel on Monday, 04/11 (the day of the home opener). There should be a fairly decent sized article on the front page of the Metro section (section B) on Brewers fans... and there should be a fair amount on Brewerfan.net. This will mark the second time the site has been featured in an "actual" newspaper ( link )
  12. This link is particularily exciting: news.google.com/news?hl=e...n&ie=UTF-8 Batman and I both submitted the site to Google News to be a news source, and we were accepted. We're not an official "news source" or anything, but it's definately a step in the right direction.
  13. Chris Capuano makes his first start of the year. In 4 games lifetime against the Cubs, he's sporting a rather large 9.00 ERA. Kerry Wood has handled the Brewers rather well in 9 starts, with a 2.73 ERA in 9 games. Of course, this is not the same Capuano or the same Wood, so anything can happen. 14. Yeah, real nice of the Manatees to feature the Brewers logo so prominently on their home page. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  15. Yeah, it's something I do manuall for ezBoard registrations.
  16. [ If you're looking for a label to slap on the Stars, it won't be easy. New manager Don Money, a former all-star with the Milwaukee Brewers, dodges stereotypes like raindrops. ] He may be able to dodge stereotypes, but he can't outrun similes.
  17. [ I heard they will all be doing something similar to mlb on the net with real time tracking of the games. Is that true? ] That's the going theory. Their scoreboard page is "coming soon", so I guess we'll have to wait to find out for sure.
  18. Registration is now subject to approval by management, and a link to the message board FAQ is now shown to all who are applying for membership.
  19. All users have to register before applying, but I don't think there's anyway to insert a custom screen with ezBoard with custom info. It's been a while since i've checked though, so maybe i'll poke around and see if there's a way to do so. There are ways to limit access to new users so that they either have to be "voted" in or approved by the staff... so maybe there's a way to do something there. Yeah, the site is growing by leaps and bounds, and the staff is currently having an internal discussion on how to keep everything reigned in.
  20. There's no official "business plan" in place, but we have brought ILBrewerFan on board to try to give us some marketing ideas. Making Brewerfan a LLC is probably something i'm going to try to do this summer, to protect the site. If you look at the bottom of the screen in the fan forum, there are some ads provided by AdBrite, and a link where advertisers can purchase ad space. I'm going to give that a run for a little while. There is also a text ad at the bottom right of the home page now, that was able to provide a little revenue. I've also got one more advertiser in the queue that I want to get to. Right now, the plan is to make Brewerfan.net make exactly $0 profit. I'd like to jack up the revenue though, to pay for the site costs and perhaps promotional items. Believe me, i'd love for nothing more than to be ablle to pay Batman a salary so he could do that kind of job full-time and be able to get into the press box, but it's hard for me to envision raising any type of dollars to actually employ a person... at least without seriously compromsing the site.
  21. I'd like to come up with a generic way of doing broadcast info for each of the team clubhouses. Let me give it a little bit of thought, and i'll come up with something.
  22. There is a problem with some of the 2003 player stats, and i'll need to go in and manually adjust them. We have a process to acquire stats which doesn't include a manual process, so normally, the stats here will be as accurate as any other source.
